THIS WEEK FOR FBC KIDS…
Sunday, February 26th 9:45 Sunday School /11am Worship & Children’s Church for
Pre-schoolers and Children. Wednesday, March 1st
6pm-6:45pm– Mission Friends, GA and RA Groups Meet
Mr. Blane & Ms. Bailey
Senior Adult Ministry
Our next Young at Heart will be February 27th with Peggy Clemons speaking about the Abundance Ministry. The host group for February Young at Heart is Kelly & Shirlie Sumner, Wiley & Charlene Evans, and Virginia Watson. Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Supper Club at DJ’s this past Thursday night. We had the best time fellowshipping together!
Please Consider Volunteering!
We are still in need of volunteers to
help lead our Children’s Church for
our Pre-School age group on Sunday
mornings. We have a committed
group of about 25 adults who are on a
rotation but they are asked to lead 4
times a year. With the elimination of
our Nursery Volunteer list, we were
hoping some would volunteer to help
with Children’s Church so that our
current workers would not have to
serve so often. A NEW volunteer lists will begin in April so if
you would consider helping us, please contact Blane, Bailey or
Nicole Kicklighter. Thanks for your consideration.
Teddy Bears Still Needed
So far, we have collected over 110 stuffed animals for our partnership with the Police Department. We will continue to collect through the end of March so it is not too late to donate. Just drop them off in the Narthex of the church as you enter for worship or bring them by the church office.
Gideon Emphases in Worship THIS SUNDAY Come Prepared to Give
We will have our very own Jimmy Davis, who is a member of the Gideons organization, share briefly during worship this Sunday, February 26th. An offering for Gideons International will be taken up at the end of the service. Please come prepared to give and support this very important ministry.
Abundance Ministry
From our Abundance we give to others who have less than we do. Abundance does not necessarily mean that we are wealthy, as an example Jesus taught that “All these people gave of their abundance; but she (the widow) out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” We thank you for all your gifts to those who have so little. Things that you might consider sharing with them are individually wrapped crackers, chips, Vienna sausage, snack cakes, gum, candy, and drinks. You are also welcome to donate money and someone else will do the shopping for you. Just mark your check or envelope for the Abundance Ministry.
Jerry’s Text for Sunday Morning
1 Corinthians 11:23-27
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
