I visited the Voskamp family who lives in Thompsons, Texas. Thompsons is about 20 miles south of Houston.
Mr. Voskamp works for the Southwest Dairy FarmersMuseum as a Mobile Dairy Classroom Instructor. He let me milk his cow, “Missy”.
I am standing on the “claw”. This is put on the cow’s udderand draws the milk out to go into the weigh jar.
This is the weigh jar. That is a lot of milk! That is how much Starand Missy gave us.The cows are milked twice a day in the morning and evening.
We went to a Horse Show Clinic at Texas A&M.. Tim Kimura(the man who taught the clinic) remembered me when we met in Virginia. I told him that Amber sent me to Texas. I tried to call her, but she didn’t answer.
We went out to eat at a restaurant called The Salt Grass Steakhouse. Here I am with Dot and her older brother Joey. We had fun.
The Voskamps tookme to the Fort BendCounty Courthousein Richmond, Texas.
There is a statue in frontof the Courthouse of
Mirabeau Lamar. He is the father ofEducation in Texas.
The Voskamps took me to Sugar Land, Texas on my last day here. We visited Sugar Land Town Square where we met two nice Policemen. One officer let me sit on his Taser.
Next Jamie and I sat by a fountain that has a sculpture of Stephen F. Austin. He is called the Father of Texas.
