LUKE 13 : 1-9

Repent or Perish

1 There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

6 And he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8 And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. 9 Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’ ”

If they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you are angry with them and give them to an enemy … yet if they turn their heart … and repent and plead with you … saying, ‘We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,’ if they repent with all their mind and with all their heart …, then hear from heaven … their prayer and their pleas, and maintain their cause and forgive your people who have sinned against you.

2 Chr. 6:36-39.

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

Am I able?

Am I able?

Am I willing?

Am I able?

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Isaiah 55:6-7

Never consider anyone else as “more sinner” than yourself.

Never consider anyone else as “more sinner” than yourself.

Tragedy is no sure sign of sinfulness.

Never consider anyone else as “more sinner” than yourself.

Tragedy is no sure sign of sinfulness.

Absence of tragedy is no sure sign of righteousness.

Repent while there is time, so you won’t perish. Today is a good day to be saved!
