Dear Friends in Christ, In just two days we will celebrate the birth of the Lord. God from God, light from light, in the flesh and blood of human beings. What an awesome mystery. What a Christmas gi beyond all imagining. The Holy of Holies becomes one with us so that we might become divine. How fi ng that this season burst with song and rejoicing. How fi ng that we give gi s to each other in honor of the greatest gi we could receive- God’s only Son. How fi ng that the brightness of His light dispel the darkness of winter, the warmth of his love, dispel the coldness of sin
and evil. Rejoice! Be Glad! God is one with us forever.
“For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.”
~ Luke 1:44 When you hear the scripture readings and Gospel reading each Sunday, do you “leap for joy”? If not, don’t blame the lector or priest, rather look inside yourself. Do you prepare for Mass each week or do you just show up and expect to be entertained? We are called to be active participants, not passive by-standers.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus are hosting a chili cook off and Dutch auction. If you are submitting a chili for the competition please have it at the Social Hall by 4:00 for judging. There is a $25 prize for the winner in each category. The social event with meal and Dutch auction begins at 6:30. Application to submit a chili are available at the Church and School offices and at the kiosk in the narthex. Meal includes a bowl of chili, a hot dog, dessert and beverage. Cost is Adults $7.00 and children under 10$3.00. The adult price includes 10 tickets for the Dutch auction, children’s includes 5 auction tickets. Our version of the Dutch auction is as follows: the items being auctioned are on display with a “red solo cup” placed in front of each item. You “bid” by placing a ticket in the cup. The more tickets you put in the cup, the better chance you have to win. At the conclusion of the evening, one ticket is pulled from each cup. Holder of that ticket goes home with the item. We have a large variety of items for auction, including children’s items. Extra Dutch auction tickets will be on sale for $1.00 for 5 tickets.
