Hester’s revenues remain un-impactedin current Bird Flu disease outbreaks

Ahmedabad, As all areaware, there have been BirdFlu outbreaks across India. Thespread of Bird Flu has beenmainly through migratory wildbirds. In the winter months, wild birds migrate to thetropical areas, India being inthe tropics. These birds mayhave been infected with BirdFlu. They carry the diseasealong their travel path andinfect other birds in the journey. No country has control over themovements of the migratorywild birds or on their spreadingof any disease including BirdFlu disease. These migratorywild birds first infect other wildbirds in those geographieswhich then locally spread thedisease. Bird Flu could then

spread in organized poultryas well as backyard poultry. The Indian Government’spolicy towards controllingBird Flu in poultry is bystamping out the infectedpoultry population. Whilethere have been Bird Fluoutbreaks in organizedpoultries in India, HesterBiosciences’s technical teamhas been assisting the poultryindustry by improving thebiosecurity and general healthcondition of poultry to wardoff the disease. Hester’srevenues have not gotimpacted in this current BirdFlu situation prevailing inIndia. The company continuesto grow as per our forecastedgrowth plans. (18-2)

The three days ofvaccination which started onJanuary 16 has witnessedparticipation of 32,379healthcare workers against thetarget of 49,131. The programhas witnessed a steady declinein participation against the settargets for all three days with73.79% of the intended

beneficiaries taking the jab onday 1, followed by a dip onDay 2 to 68.72% and 54.89%on Tuesday. The healthofficial held the technicalglitch in the Co-Win app asthe chief cause for thedeclining number ofparticipants.

However, the CM held theverbal exchange between thetwo vaccine manufacturersas the reason behind thedecline in participation.“Health workers have comein fewer numbers forvaccination. This is also dueto the exchange of wordsdone for commercial reasonsbetween the two vaccinemanufacturers. Yesterday,Bharat Biotech releasedguidelines regarding itsvaccine. If these guidelineswere issued earlier, people'strust would have increased inthe vaccine,” tweeted Gehlot.

In another tweet, hesaid, “I appeal to the healthworkers to come forward toget the vaccine.” Gehlot'sstatement came a day afterthe state government urgedthe Central government toallow on spot registration ofbenef ic iar ies as thevaccination program washindered due to technicalglitches in the CoWin app.A senior doctor said theCoWin application does notwork effectively and hasproblems. The beneficiariesdidn’t receive the messagesfor vaccination on time andwere later ca l ledtelephonically. “We haveasked the GoI to al lowvaccination through on-spotregistrations as there issome technical snag withthe software,” stated DrSudheer Bhandari, PrincipalSMS Medical College.
