Friendship Village School Open House
Thursday, September 25th5-6:30
Open House is a time for parents and teachers to meet and greet.
The Scholastic Book Fair will also be here for Open House for parents and students to enjoy. We do have a change for first and fourth grade teachers, due to a class they are taking in literacy; they will not be in the building until 5:30. They both really want to see parents and students on Open House night
and are hoping you can be there to see them from 5:30-6:30. We apologize for this change for those classes. We look
forward to seeing you there! Please remember this not a time to have a conference with your child’s classroom teacher.
Parent Teacher conferences will be held in November or can be scheduled with your child’s teacher.
From the Principal’s Desk,
It appears autumn is here!! One of my favorite times of year because of the start of school, not to mention the food!
Students in grades 3-‐6 have been working diligently on NWEA testing this week. While testing can be stressful for some students, they are persevering and doing their best. We are very proud of them. The NWEA assessments give data to teachers so they can ensure the students are receiving the information they need in class.
Last week, students had choice of where they sat at lunch as well as enjoying music during lunch. We will continue to do this as long as the students show us responsible behavior throughout the week. We had Uive reward earners last week – Brenden Beckim (5th), Nelson Weeks (3rd), Cole Winchenbach (3rd), Isaiah Orne (3rd), and Leanna Morin (2nd). Students had choices of assisting in another classroom, two recesses with a friend, principal time (I have an iPad and games we can do), lunch with a friend in another class. The two recesses with a friend were VERY popular this week! Learners keep up the great work of showing responsible behavior-‐we are proud of you and you are making your school a wonderful place to grow and learn together!! Please continue to talk about what “responsible” is at home. We will have a school wide reward time on the 30th for those students who have not had behavior forms sent to the ofUice this month.
Our students are working hard and really making responsible decisions on their own!! I am not surprised since we have great students and families at FVS!!
Remember the Book Fair begins next week and Open House is on the 25th. THANK YOU!
Due to the generosity of an anonymous gift, each FVS student
will be able to spend $10 at the
Scholastic Book Fair!
