Furnace OzonatorIs it worthof effort?

Ozonators where used mainly in mid range to large boiling houses and heat factories.

Typical minuses of home furnaces:Air intake is taken from room and moves heat awayPoor Fireplace construction limit max temp < 650 C;Water heater cannot be disassembled for maintenaceExhaust releases hot gass to chimney

30 x 30 x 15 cm pack would cost about 350 Eurtogether with HV electronics

and produce following particles

How much ozone we need?

Ozone impact on VOC conversion

Danish Gass authors where found that

• The reduction of NOx emission is more efficient at lower temperature (110 °C) than at higher temperature (160 °C), so ~5% (1/20) of ozone produced must be feed directly to chimney viasecond flow regulator;

• O2 is more efficient than air as ozone agent (keep oxigen cilinder).• The technique is applicable on flue gas from biomass combustion

despite the presence of compounds such as SO2 and HCl.• Reduction of NOx emissions requires approximately half as much

O3 when it is applied to the natural gas fired engine unit compared to the straw fired boiler unit.

• The higher O3 consumption on straw fired units is due to both higher flue gas temperature and larger NOx fluctuations in the flue gas compared to the gas engine unit.
