A 1-day field trip to geobiologically and geohydrochemically interesting aquatic Ecosystems in the Jöri Catchment

Topics High altitude research, Bio-geo-chemical cycles, Weathering and erosion patterns in gneiss, Weathering and soil formation, Alpine water resources, Geology of the Silvretta nappe, Low temperature geochemistry, Evolution of mountain lakes, Modern and ancient nutrient fertilization and cycling in remote high altitude aquatic ecosystems, Hydrologic changes in glacial retreat areas of the Jöri lake catchment.

   Meeting point Bus departs at 08.55 from Davos Dorf. Trip back: Davos-Dorf dep. at 18.06, arrival in

Klosters 18.33    Costs Prepaid with the geochronology course fees are the bus ticket to Wägerhus, including the

special alpine pass road fee, the train tickets to and from Davos Platz and the backpack lunches.

 

Fitness Walking on rough mountainous terrain and working in the field for 8 hrs  

Clothing Good mountain walking boots, layers of cloths for warm, sunny as well as for rainy, cold weather

 

Insurance Is the responsibility of each participant, incl. REGA  Enrolment within the geochronology course  

Preparation Field guides (pdf) will be made available for enrolled participants via the internet.  Participants 20 + Guests. The field trip will be done together with Geography Master- und Bachelor
