1. SelectRectangletool to draw a rectangle2. Use the Add Constraint tool to constrain the top and
bottom edges
3. Use the Add Dimension tool to dimension the edges of
the rectangle
4. Use the Connectedtool to start draw lines.5. Use the Splittool to split either of the two interior lines
as the second entity and so on.

To define a material:
1. In the Model Tree, Click the Materialscontainer
to create a new material
2. Name the material
3. In the menu bar, chooseMechanicalElasticityElastic
4. Type a value for Young's modulus and a value for
Poisson's ratio in the respective fields
5. Click OK.

Defining and assigning section properties
The section properties of a model is defined by creating
sections in the Property module
To define a truss section
1. Choosing Sectionsto create a section.
2. Name the sectionABC > select in the Categorylist
>select in the Typelist
3. select name Material in edit section.
4. In the Cross-sectional areafield
To assign the section to the frame:
1. Under Parts,expand the Frameitem
2. Click Section Assignments > highlights theentire frame >click Donein the prompt area
to assign the frame to section.

Defining the assembly
Define the geometry of the assembly by creating
instances of a part and then positioning the instances
relative to each other in a global coordinate system .
To define the assembly:
1. Click Assemblyunder the Module list >Click Instances
2. Choose: independent or dependent
3. Using Auto-offset ( > 2 part)
4. Click Apply.
