1. Effective 01 Jan 2012, students who are interested to apply for PTPTN loan are REQUIRED to open a Skim
Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) account with a minimum deposit of RM20 at Maybank / PTPTN One
Stop Centre / PTPTN Selangor branch (at Menara MRCB, No. 2 Jln Majlis 14/10,Sek 14,40712 Shah Alam).
2. Applicable to Malaysian citizens only and aged not more than 45 years old on the date of the application.
3. No minimum requirement in SPM results for SPM leavers, but the applicant must meet the entry requirement
of the programme determined by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
4. UEC students without SPM must meet entry requirement of the programme determined by the Ministry of
Higher Education (MOHE).
5. The applicant MUST possess entry requirements for diploma or first degree programme determined by the
Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to pursue the course.
6. The applicant must be a FULL TIME diploma or first degree student at Taylor’s University.
7. ADP students may only apply from year 2. Applicants must obtain letter of completion of year 1 from ADP
Academic Services.
8. The applicant cannot have any other sponsor/s (eg.: JPA or MARA).
9. The remaining period of study upon application must exceed one year (12 months) and exclude extended
semester(s).
10. If a Degree student has borrowed PTPTN Loan for his/her Diploma programme previously, he/she is required
to submit the “Borang Permohonan Penangguhan Bayaran Balik” with the Certificate of Completion of
Diploma & the Letter of Acceptance of Degree (current programme) to PTPTN office before raising a fresh
online application (the Certificate & Letter of Acceptance copies must be certified by BFA). If you are
transferring to another institution before completing your programme, you will need to settle the loan
extended before applying for a new loan.
NOTES:
a. Students are responsible to settle the full fees for every semester within the deadlines set by Taylor’s while
waiting for the loan to be disbursed to students’ account.
b. O-Level students must show proof that their parents have been sent by the government to work or study in
other countries to be eligible to apply for this loan. Other than this reason, O-Level students are not eligible to
apply for the loan.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPLICATION
Step 1: Purchase a PIN number from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) for PTPTN Online Application which costs
RM5.00. The PIN number is valid for 6 Months from the date of purchase.
Step 2: Open a Savings account at CIMB Bank (Applicant’s personal account ONLY)
Step 3: Open Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) account at PTPTN One Stop Centre or Maybank.
Step 4: Obtain a valid email with yahoo.com or gmail.com only (for PTPTN correspondence purpose)
Step 5: Login to http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway to register (Pendaftaran Kali Pertama) using the PIN number
from BSN
Step 6: Complete the PTPTN Online Loan Application within the time frame specified above (“Butiran Peribadi ->
Butiran Pekerjaan Pemohon (leave it blank) -> Butiran Ibubapa Kandung -> Butiran Penjaga -> Butiran
Kursus -> Butiran Kelayakan -> Pengesahan Permohonan (Click ‘YA’) -> Cetak Maklumat”).
Step 7: Compile and submit all SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS (appendix 6) to Taylor’s Bursary & Financial Aid
Counter, Block A, Level 1 before or on the given date based on submission batch.
NOTES: *Amendment of information is not allowed if applicant has clicked the “YA” button. In order to re-apply,
applicant needs to cancel the old application and purchase a new PIN number.
ONLINE APPROVAL AND LOAN AGREEMENT
Step 1: CONDITIONAL APPROVAL – Log in to PTPTN Loan Application website (http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway)
or email to check on the loan status based on the estimated date of the approval given.
Step 2: Applicants must print out TWO SETS of agreement” in A4 size white paper, one sheet per page and use
ONLY BLACK colour ink to print the documents.
Step 3: Purchase 2 pieces of “Setem Hasil” worth RM10.00 each from the Post Office.
Step 4: Submit all the completed loan documents to Taylor’s University Bursary & Financial Aid Counter, Block A,
Level 1 within 2 weeks from the date of the loan approval. Note: If Students already submitted
supporting documents they are only required to submit the 2 sets of agreements. Step 5: ACTUAL
APPROVAL (Meet entry requirement of diploma or first degree programme determined by MOHE) –
Session between student and PTPTN officer is subject to request by PTPTN officer.
SIGNING AGREEEMENT PROCEDURES
BOTH SETS of agreement MUST BE with ORIGINAL SIGNATURE. Photocopies of the signed agreement will not be
accepted. (students to sign “Tandatangan Penerima Biaya”)
Use only black or blue ball pen (Ensure consistency of the ink used throughout the agreement)
Liquid paper is strictly not allowed. Any mistakes must be struck off, initialled and re-written.
INSURANCE
All students who receive the PTPTN loan must take insurance coverage. The appointment of an insurance
company and payment of premium will be handled by PTPTN. The amount will be automatically deducted from the
loan every semester.
LOAN DISBURSEMENT
The loan disbursement will be credited directly to the student’s personal account with CIMB Bank. (Students
should check their bank account within the mentioned time period/estimate 1 month after the closing date of
Agreement submission. Any changes are subject to PTPTN.
Payments are made twice per academic year during the 2 long terms.
Students are REQUIRED to submit their latest academic results to the Bursary & Financial Aid Unit (BFA) within 1
WEEK from the date of release of results. The result can be submitted via email : financialaid@taylors.edu.my or
by hand to the BFA Counter (Block A, Level 1).
Subsequent payments will be made after PTPTN receives confirmation from Taylor’s University that the student is
progressing into the next semester and has scored not less than GPA 2.00/4.00 or PASS in the previous
semester.

SUSPENSION OF LOAN DISBURSEMENT
The disbursement of loan will be suspended for the following reasons:
Student obtained less than GPA 2.00/4.00 or FAIL in the previous semester.
Student defers his/her studies.
LOAN REPAYMENT
1. The borrower is encouraged to repay the loan to PTPTN without waiting for the letter of claim. The period of repayment
is based on the total amount of loan taken:
i. RM10,001 to RM22,000 - 120 months / 10 years
ii. RM22,001 to RM50,000 - 180 months / 15 years
iii. RM50,001 and above - 240 months / 20 years
2. From 1st June 2008, the administrative cost is reduced to 1% per annum on the remaining loan amount.
3. Administrative costs will be calculated 6 months upon completion of studies or termination of loan as specified in the
signed agreement. No reduction will be given on the administrative cost.
4. Deferment of repayment can be considered for borrowers who continue their studies or who are not working, by
submitting an application to PTPTN. However, the administrative cost will be charged during the period of deferment.
5. Administrative costs will be waived if the loan is fully repaid within the 6-months period (after completion of studies).
6. Exemption of loan repayment will be considered for students who obtained First Class Honours (Degree Programme
ONLY) in their academic achievement by submitting an application to PTPTN (Terms & Conditions apply).

APPENDIX 4: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. I am a PTPTN recipient and interested to go abroad for my studies. What should I do with my PTPTN loan?
You must fill up the “Borang Pembatalan dan Penolakan PTPTN” and write a letter to PTPTN to notify them that you would like
to cancel the loan. Submit a copy of the Offer Letter from the new institution to PTPTN so that they are aware of your intention
to complete your studies abroad.
2. Does PTPTN still provide conversion from loan to scholarship?
Conversion from loan to scholarship will be considered for students who obtained First Class Honours in their academic
achievement by submitting an application direct to PTPTN (Terms & Conditions apply).
3. How do I submit my PTPTN Loan Application?
You must submit your loan application on the PTPTN website within the deadline given by clicking on the “YA” button and all
hardcopy supporting documents are required to send through the Taylor’s Bursary & Financial Aid Unit, Block A, Level 1,
Lakeside Campus.
4. What happens if I submit the online application after the deadline?
Application submitted after the deadlines will be processed at the next available date(s).
5. Does PTPTN provide loan to student to pursue their studies overseas?
No, PTPTN Loan is only offered to Malaysian students studying in Malaysia.
6. Can PTPTN Loan repayment be shortened or extend for another few years?
PTPTN repayment period can be shortened but cannot be extended. Payment completed within six months after graduation
will not be charged any interest.
7. What are the conditions permissible for me to extend my loan period?
PTPTN only allows the following:
Changes in course structure, which lengthen the entire duration of the course.
The loan period is shorter than the course duration.
Health problems
8. Am I eligible for the remaining loan if I complete my studies earlier than the actual completion date?
The loan is only for the duration of completion of studies, be it at an earlier date or the normal completion period. The
repayment claim is based on the total loan you have received including administrative costs.
9. I was given a loan to fund my diploma studies. Upon completion, I would like to continue with my Degree programme. Can I re-
apply for the PTPTN Loan?
Yes, you may submit a letter to PTPTN or fill in “Borang Permohonan Penangguhan Bayaran Balik” and inform them that you
have completed your Diploma studies and would like to re-apply for a new PTPTN Loan to finance your Degree programme. If
you are transferring to another institution before completing your programme, you will need to settle the loan extended before
applying for a new loan. The overall amount must not exceed RM65,000.00.
10. What should I do if I change / transfer out from my present programme?
You must cancel the PTPTN loan by completing the "Borang Pembatalan Perjanjian dan Penolakan Pembiayaan
Pendidikan PTPTN" and you will be required to pay the entire amount of loan that was released by PTPTN to you including
the cost of Admin fees.

7. Front Page of the Saving Account Pass Book /statement /deposit slip CIMB Bank Berhad that shows name, IC and
account number. (Applicant’s personal account ONLY - joint accounts are NOT accepted).
8. SSPN membership Card / account slip / SSPN letter
9. Other relevant qualifications obtained after SPM for degree programme (MUST possess entry requirements of the
programme determined by MOHE). Only ACTUAL results are accepted.
Example: FOUNDATION / A Level / SAM / CPU / UEC / STPM / DIPLOMA.

NOTE: Letter of Completion is required if applicant has not receive the Certificate of Completion.

(If the information of "Butiran Penjaga" in the PTPTN online application is different than biological parents)
NOTE:
Borang Pengesahan Pendapatan” MUST BE filled in, if both/one of the parents/guardians are not
working (ie. Housewife, retired) or do not have a payslip. The form can be downloaded from PTPTN’s
website : http://www.ptptn.gov.my/web/guest/borang2 (must submit original copy)
Applicants who submit their loan application from second semester onwards are required to attach these additional
supporting documents:-

a. All documents must be photocopied on A4 size paper.
b. Certification true copy for all documents will be done by Taylor’s Bursary & Financial Aid Unit. Please bring along the
original documents and Photostatted copies for certification. a. PTPTN reserves the right to check the AUTHENTICITY of all the documents and information provided with relevant parties.
Applications with incomplete or incorrect information and applicants who presented forged documents will be rejected.
b. PTPTN will not accept any direct submission of supporting documents from applicants to PTPTN office.
