gapmx is wholly produced in Canada, with the help of similarly moto-passionate people includ-ing: --The Canadian Moto Show--Penticton Honda Centre--Something Pretty Boutique--Buoy Clothing Co.

I haven’t met any moto-heads as passionate as The Canadian Moto Show’s own Brent Worrall, but if you think you share his level of passion, and want to contribute something to the gapmx eMag, e.g., photos, artwork, video, etc., get a hold of me at the email addy below so we can put your skills to work! Wide-spread, unauthorized downloading, dis-tribution and reproduction of this document is absolutely endorsed and encouraged. Airmail was catching up on his reading over the weekend. Note the right bottom of the book’s cover: “autographed” by Tyson himself!

Mike Gibson Tyre was in the house, helping bikes to stay hooked up on the evolving track conditions.

These two rippers made heads turn in the 65cc class - can you name them? Answer at bottom.

Excellent smiles, boys. Now let’s launch that car into orbit!

Dear parents of children depcited above: I did not endorse anybody’s misuse of this RC car. But it was an epic jump!

Push it up!Well, another round of racing is in the books, and an-other issue of the gapmx/Canadian Moto Show eMag is out! Any day that I get to attend the races and par-ticipate in the sport I love, even if from the sidelines, is a great day. I came to the race with a whole set of new ideas to get images that I haven’t made before - after all, it does get tougher to shoot at a track that you have shot before, because you don’t want the photos from this race to look like the ones taken at the last race at the same location. Many of my ideas brought forward resulted in images that failed completely. In fact, combing through the images on the computer, I had a record number of rejects of any race that I have photographed! However, I also got some images that look entirely different. Para-doxically, the experience of having all those failed shots was tremendously worthwhile! It reminded me that even if we have a decent talent at something, we should continue to push ourselves up to new levels. As before, this gapmx eMag is a bit brief, and many racers were left out, but since there is a few weeks before the next round that will give me enough time to make an “extended version” of FWM Round 3 that will display the talents of many more racers. That issue, and all of the gapmx back issues can be seen at www.issuu.com/kevinlefebvre May the Lord keep you safe, and I’ll see you at the races!!

Hangin’ out, organizing prom dates, moto legends, and figuring out film sequences, it’s all in a day’s fun at Popkum Motor Park.

Lots of race fans were excited to see multi-time national champion “Too Trick” Al Dyck line up again on a motorcycle, this time in the Plus 50 class. Too Trick took home the win after a come-from-behind start. I’d love to see a rematch between Too Trick and Rollerball; hey Ross, I’ll arrange a ride for you at the next round at Popkum; how ‘bout coming out to the track to relive some glory days?

Ryan Lockhart epitomizes everything that is great about motocross. He rides hard and is blazing fast on the track, and this talent is complimented by an approachable, down-to-earth attitude off the track. His contribution to the sport has been immeasurable, so celebrating Ryan, and the family that stands behind him by putting him on the cover was an easy choice.

With her googles on the handlebar, and jersey torn up from a get-off, Casey Raimondo was not about to give up her chase for a top spot in the Ladies class. This girl is determined to step it up!

Background: I started riding when I was just a kid, dad raced most of his life and got me on a bike super young. I always rode trails, I loved it and had the best times. I didn’t get on the track until about three years ago, and from the first day, I LOVED it. I had always talked about racing but it seemed a little farfetched, until last fall when I finally decided to just do it. I went and raced the FutureWest Arenacross series. I had never been in a race in my life so it was tough. But by the last weekend I managed to figure out starts, and got a holeshot, and made a podium, which felt pretty awe-some. I ended up finishing 8th overall, and for a first timer, I was pretty content with that. I have such a drive to win; anything but first place will always be a bit of a disappointment, but I’ll get there!

Goals for 2016: I’d really like to hold onto a top three position in the Future West series. I’m on my bike almost every day, and hitting the gym. I’m also planning to race the CMRC Women’s Nationals, with hopes for a top-10 overall finish. It’s going to be hard work but I know I can do it!

Day Job: I actually just left my job for the summer, I’m probably going to go back to working in a bar or restaurant in the evenings to that I can get on my bike every day! Some time off will be nice :)

Favorite Music: It really depends on the mood I suppose, I’m a country girl at heart, anything country is good with me. But, I’m also not opposed to some top 40, classic rock. I’m pretty much open to anything.

Favorite Movies: I’m a softy, I love Nicholas Sparks movies, though I hate to admit it, “The Notebook” has got to be one of my favorites.

Favorite Books: That’s a hard one, because I love to read. My favorite book I’ve ever read was probably “The Book of Negroes,” by Lawrence Hill.

Fun Facts: I have a huge background in horseback riding, and studied Equine Sport Therapy for two years. Horses had always come first until I started racing motocross. I’m still passionate about horses, but my heart is in pur-suit of motocross!

I don’t have a whole lot of experience seeing what a high performance quad can do, but Suzuki mounted Mark Zumbo showed me and the moto community just how fast a quad can get around the track, blitzing his way to first in the Quad class.

The jumps at Popkum provide riders with plenty of air time. While airborne, Tyler Gibbs (above) took a heart-rate reading off of his Fitbit, and checked for new Likes on his Instagram account, before finally turning to pose for the gapmx camera. Alright, that might be slight exaggeration, but nonetheless, the track’s spectacular obstacles make it a haven for sports shooters, and some of the best in the industry were there, including well-known MX sharp shooters John Bowman and Vancouver’s own Shawn Watson (below).
