TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS

INTRODUCTION

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS INTRODUCTION TO SABAS:

• SABAS GRP Technology Company

• In the field of trenchless GRP pipelines for over a

decade

• GRP products installed in India since 2000

• Offer injection moulded GRP Sewer liners

• GRP Jacking/Tunneling Pipe

• FW piping systems for general application

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS GENERAL APPLICATION AREAS:

• Water transmission (both raw and potable)

• Sewerage collection and outfalls

• Storm water systems

• Seawater intake and cooling water outfall lines

• Blowdown lines and water circulation for power

stations

• Industrial effluents

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS HISTORY:

• GRP was first commercially applied by Owen’s corning in 1942

• The first buried underground GRP fuel storage tank was installed in Chicago in 1964. In 1985 sample coupons were cut from the tank and analyzed. The tank was found to be in good condition, meeting all requirements as if it has been installed today; the tank remains in service.

• The first GRP pipes were produced in the 1960’s.

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

• Designed for minimum 50 year service life

– Designed for service in corrosive environments

– Flexible material

• Lightweight compared to other materials

• Economical (performance driven)

• Over 40 years industry service

• Low friction factors – low OPEX

Dense polymer mortar core

• Dissipates heat during curing

• Allows for the casting of thicker laminates

• Provides material cost savings

• Adds stiffness

High strength glass reinforced layers

• Efficient design through bespoke fibre design

• Orientation tailored for specific application.

Resin rich anti corrosion layer

• Formed from flexible corrosion resistant gel-coats

• Designed for specific environment

• Layer regulated and reinforced with chopped

strands, synthetic & glass fibre tissue

SABAS pipes and liners are made from a high-strength composite

material that is formed from a new and innovative closed-mold

process.

It is this unique process and resultant material that gives the system its

great strengths:

APPLICATIONS

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS SEWER AND PIPE LINING INTRODUCTION:TT

• Governed by WRc design and installation rules since

1984

• Ideal for larger diameter lines

• Ideal for non-circular

• Provide very economic solution compared to CIPP

for larger diameters

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS WRc DESIGN PRINCIPLES:

• Governed by WRc design and installation rules since

1984

• Type II Design – liner designed as a flexible

independent structure

• Type I Design – host, annulus grout and liner

designed as composite rigid structure

• GRP IS THE ONLY MATERIAL APPLICABLE UNDER BOTH

TT-GRP PIPING SYSTEMS SLIP-LINING OF TUNNELS:

• Casing pipes may be required due to engineering conditions

• Concrete or steep pipes may provide inefective service performance

– Pressure performance

– Corrosion resistance

• GRP pipe can be installed (as with old pipe), to give inner carrier pipe designed against grouting and long-term performance requirements
