Topic : POINT, LINE, PLANE

The pupil states the definition of line and segment. The pupil identifies RAY, LINE, SEGMENT. The pupil classifies collinear and non collinear points. The pupil defines in his own words:

parallel linesintersecting linesconcurrent lines

• The pupil illustrates his own examples of parallel lines. • The pupil illustrates his own

examples of intersecting lines.• The pupil classifies collinear and

non collinear points.• The pupil draws concurrent lines.

POINTS• We can draw innumerable

lines passing through a single point.

• One and only one line passes through any two given points.

POINTS When one and only one line can

be drawn passing through three or more points, the points are said to be “COLLINEAR POINTS”

When a single line cannot be drawn through three points, the points are said

to be “NON COLLINEAR POINTS”

PLANE• A PLANE is a flat surface

which extends in all directions without any limits.

• Lines in the same plane that do not intersect each other are called “PARALLEL LINES”

• Line A and B meet in point O.

• Point O is called the point of intersection of line A and line B.

• Two intersecting lines have one and only one point of intersection.

A B

O

Line M, line N and line A intersect each other at point O.

Thus, three lines intersect each other in one common point.

Their point of intersection point O is called the POINT OF CONCURRENCE.

Three or more than three lines intersecting in a single point are called CONCURRENT LINES.
