ELEVATOR SYSTEM – GREAT RIFT LIFT
The 1,800-acre San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park is operated by the not-for-profit San Diego Zoo and includes a 900-acre native species reserve. The organization focuses on conservation and research work around the globe, educates millions of individuals a year about wildlife and maintains accredited horticultural, animal, library and photo collections. The Zoo also manages the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo's Institute for Conservation Research. The important conservation and science work of these entities is supported in part by The Foundation of the Zoological Society of San Diego.

Tour Booking: Reserve your special tour at the Safari Booking Station in the Entry Plaza building (C10).
Animal Interaction: Get up close at Lorikeet Landing (H15) and the Petting Kraal (H12).
Spectacular Vistas: Take in panoramic views at Baja Garden (P1), Elephant Overlook (K9), Kilima Point (O14), Great Rift Lift Deck (I18), and Heart of Africa (M23).
Special Attractions: Have fun riding on the Conservation Carousel (F8), Balloon Safari (K18), and ZooWerks: The Ride (I12).
Play Areas: Cool off at Savanna Cool Zone (K16) or Jameson Research Island (M25). Climb and explore at Samburu Jungle Gym presented by Fisher-Price (H18).
Scenic Walks: Stroll through Heart of Africa (I19), see the sights at Condor Ridge (M5), or explore the backcountry trails from the Conifer Forest (M6) to Kilima Point (O14).
Gardens: Tour the Park’s horticultural collection using the Garden Locator (see box above).
Journey into Africa: Get a unique perspective on the Park’s expansive field exhibits (L21).
For Your InformationFor your convenience, a picnic area is located north of the Park Entry Plaza (B9).
Please refer to the information packet for guests with disabilities for seating and general information. This packet is available at Guest Relations, all ticket windows, show locations, and Simba Station.
Schedules may vary or be canceled due to weather or animal health needs. Listen for public address announcements.
To promote and assist conservation efforts, recycling containers for aluminum, plastic, and glass are located throughout the Park.
Remember to wash your hands after any contact with animals and before eating.
For safety reasons, strollers must be parked outside show amphitheaters.
Guests 15 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All Park guests must wear appropriate clothing,including shirts and shoes. Clothing is required at water play areas.
The following items are not allowed on Parkgrounds: weapons, pets, skates, shoes with wheels, open-speaker radios, and portable public address systems.
The Wild Animal Park is home to many native animal species. For your safety, please do not approach them.
