• Molten  Salt  Reactors  (MSRs)  can  consume  uranium,  plutonium,  thorium,  and  nuclear  waste  as  a  fuel  source.  

• America  has  large  concentrated  deposits  of  the  element  thorium  that  can  effectively  power  our  nation  with  cheap  electricity  for  billions  of  years  without  producing  any  air  pollution  or  carbon  dioxide.  

• Using  MSRs  to  consume  all  of  America’s  high  level  radioactive  waste  would  produce  enough  electricity  to  power  America  for  100  years.    

• There  is  no  United  States  long-­‐term  energy  plan  that  funds  a  Molten  Salt  Reactor  (MSR)  program.  China,  India,  and  Russia  already  have  MSR  programs.  

• MSRs  can  be  made  on  an  assembly  line  in  a  factory  under  controlled  conditions.  

• MSRs  make  many  recycling  technologies  economically  viable  with  low  energy  cost  and  clean  power.  

• The  most  conservative  estimate  for  the  MSR  is  that  it  can  produce  electricity  at  $.02  per  KW/hr.  

• The  high  cost  of  environmental  compliance  for  coal  companies  is  effectively  retiring  our  coal  industries.  MSRs  can  use  our  massive  coal  resources  to  convert  them  into  higher  valued  transportation  fuels.  

• Low  cost  electricity  and  low  cost  fuel  allow  American  companies  to  work  in  a  prosperous  environment.
