data– CACI Paycheck model at postcode sector

CACI Paycheck
• Commercial product detailing household income at local level.
• “using information on over 4 million households from CACI's lifestyle database, in conjunction with Census and market research data to increase statistical reliability.”
• We pay a license fee to CACI to enable us to distribute postcode sector data to authorities.
• CACI have enabled LAs to upgrade to full postcode level Paycheck at discounted cost – contact Simon Power spower@caci.co.uk for information.

House Price Data
• Originates at Registers of Scotland (RoS). Supplied by LVIU at University of West of Scotland (under review).
• RoS record “change of ownership” – this results in data noise especially where property changes ownership with either no or small amounts of money being involved.
• To limit noise – limit your analysis to only those records tagged as either “Second Hand” or “Company New Build” – the majority of these will be clean Market Value transactions.

House Sales by Type and Size
• Derived by blending the RoS house price data with the Council Tax register from the Scottish Assessors Portal.
• Enable finer grained analysis by using size of property e.g. prices of 2 apartment flat.
• Used by Scottish Government in setting thresholds for Open Market LIFT.
• Unit level data provided to Authorities.

SCORE – Scottish Continuous Recording System
• SCORE contains a rich amount of detail captured at the point of a new let being made. It contains information on:– the demographic characteristics of tenant households;
– the pathway by which a household has become a RSL tenant;
– the financial profile of tenant households;
– the type and condition of the property being let;
– the financial aspects of the let being made, including rent and affordability.
SCORE – Scottish Continuous Recording System
• Hope to extend SCORE to Local Authorities and be able to provide and analyse the full Social Rented Sector.
• Collection would be via Electronic Data Collection from Authorities Housing Management Systems
