Mvk -20120102 – mvk@ca.ibm.com How to Create a DTN manually?? In order to do this, you have to manually create a customized role, and groups of pages and iviews. For example, under folder COT

1. Create My ESS Role coping it from the Standard SAP Role Employee Self serivce. Path Portal Content--> Content Provided by SAP-->End User Content--> Empoyee Self-Service Web Dynpro ABAP--> Roles Right click Role Employee Self-Service, and select copy

Then move to your target path. And right click the folder you want to create the new role. In the following it is folder Roles under COT-->HCM-->ESS-->Roles Right click Roles folder and select paste

Select Copy. Click NEXT

Click Finish

Then you can right click the role and select change ID to add your target naming conventions

For example, enter IDs/Names as the following and click finish .

2. Create a new folder for iviews, and pages Right click a target folder and you can create folders under this folder.

Folder iview and pages were created under folder ESS.

Right Click iview folder and select New-->iview-->iview from remote source

Enter the sysem, application and application type, see below. Click Go.

Highlight the found application, and add to right side.

Click start upload

After upload, click finish

In the portal content side, right click one of the iview that is created. Select Open-->Properties

Click All

Select Appearance-Size, then click the Modify Properties button

Change the Height Type to Full page, and save it.

Then Select Appearance-Tray, and deselect "Show Tray". This config will result that the page title and tray functions will not show-up

Then select Content Webdynpro, add configuration name and change the webdynpro client as HTML.

Select Monitoring, and ensure it is checked for the Monitor Hits property.

Click Save and Refresh the iview.

If you have name format, you may need to change the iview ID with a pre-designed format. You can do this by right click the iview, and select "change ID"

Click next Enter the IDs and click Finish

A message will be displayed after it changed

Do the same steps for each iview you need to be added to the DTN. Here we created 3 iview in total, Time Sheet, Pay Advise and T4 and T4A. You may also need to add welcome page and some personnel Links. To do this you will need to create an iview with template. For welcome page: Right click iview folder and select new-->iview--> iview from template

The select KM document iview The enter the ID, name and prefix for the iview. In the properties, change the property "Path to document" to "/documents/cot/hcm/welcome.html"

Content admin-->KM content Then in the root side, select document--> cot--> hcm.

The other properties are the similar as the other iviews except " Content Webdynpro ". This iview does not require webdynpro config. For personnel link, they are URL based. When create this iview, choose the template "URL iview"

Enter the ID, name and prefix Then put the URL in the "Enter URL" field. Then click NEXT and review the config and click finish.

The properties can be set up similar as other iviews except " Content Webdynpro ". This iview does not require webdynpro config. Now you can create target pages. Right Click Pages folder, select New--> pages

Click Close button You may also need to create the page with pre-designed page names. You can do this by right click the page and select "Change ID".

Click Finish Do the same steps to add the following 3 pages. The to customize each pages by right click one of the page, select Open-->Page

The add the corresponding iview in the page by right click the iview and "Add iview to page" as "Delta Link"

Click properties, similar as the steps in iview customization. You will need to modify/review the following properties. Ensure the 2 monitor properties were selected. They will work for the activity report.

Then Save the page and refresh it. Do the same for every pages. Now wrap the pages into the target Role. Right click the Self Service Role, and select Open--> Role to open it.

Then right click each page, and add the pages into the role via Delta link.

After all of the pages were added to the role, in the right side, you can find the Navigation structure PREVIEW

click Refresh. Then back to Portal to check the results, the customized DTN is built up.
