Should I latch to the word flip?

Should I assess differently?

Take several semesters to implement• Flip a whole topic• Flip one-third of the course• Flip two-thirds of the course• Flip the whole course.

Effectiveness of Flipped Classes

• Is the flipped class better than the traditional lecture?

Yes, that is a no-brainer and a blended class would be better than traditional lecture as well!

Is the flipped class better than the blended class?

_________________________________

Flipped vs. Blended (Preliminary Results)• Significantly higher performance for all

students together (14%, 18% Mixed)• Not significantly different for free-response

questions• Self-efficacy lower (10%, 13% higher Mixed)• Not significantly different classroom

environment other than individualization!
