If you sat down and wrote down everything that you, by your choice, have done, thought, and said in your life, what kind of a story would it be?
Girls I Have Liked
Friends Friends I have betrayed
Books I have read
Lies I have told
Comfort I have given
Things I did for the Lord
Jokes I have laughed at
Things I yelled at my brother
Things I’ve done in my anger
Things I’ve said under my breath at my parents
Songs I havelistened to
My lustful thoughts
People I’ve shared the gospel with
The Story
Each card describes who you are: Everything you have
done, thought, said, or experienced makes up a tiny part of
who you are.
Some cards describe how you have affected others:
((Colossians 4:5-6.) Colossians 4:5-6.)
This lesson is simple: ““And there is no creature hidden And there is no creature hidden from from
His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of
Him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:13)Him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:13)
But God knows it all. And that's not all. He will also judge
us: “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in
the body, according to what he has done, whether good or the body, according to what he has done, whether good or
bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10) bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
If God didn't have compassion for us, He would have left
us all to follow the course we chose to its end in hell.
Instead, He visited us in order to show mercy toward us:
(Hebrews 4:15; Romans 5:6-8.) (Hebrews 4:15; Romans 5:6-8.)
Heb 4:15Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot For we do not have a high priest who cannot
sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been
tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.

Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will hardly die for aChrist died for the ungodly. 7 For one will hardly die for a
righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someonerighteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone
would dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own lovewould dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love
toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died fortoward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.us.
Now this is the truly good news. In Acts 22:16Acts 22:16, Paul
explains how Christ had disposed of a lot of cards he
wanted to get rid of.
Jesus washed away what was written on every card in the
files Paul had marked, "Christians I have persecuted,
imprisoned, and killed," "Hatred I have harbored towards
God's people," "Times I have fought against the purpose
of God."
1) What will be on the cards I write tomorrow?
2) What will become of the bad cards I write in the future?
Jesus has signed His Name over ours!
Are we going to let that great act of love – DEATH ON
THE CROSS – go unheeded?
Psalm 32:1-2Psalm 32:1-2
Acts 8:35-39Acts 8:35-39
Do you appreciate what Jesus can do in your life?
Do you thank Him for what He has done?
This illustration helped me feel a deep sense of shame that
because of me, Christ has suffered. I’m the one!
Let's get rid of any shameful index cards and start writing
good ones.
It begins by being baptized into Christ Jesus death
(Romans 6:3-6).(Romans 6:3-6).
