The dealer is best equipped toprovide all your vehicle's serviceneeds. Should you ever encountera problem that is not resolvedduring or after the limited warrantyperiod, talk to a member of dealermanagement. Under certaincircumstances, GM and/or GMdealers may provide assistanceafter the limited warranty periodhas expired when the problemresults from a defect in material orworkmanship. These instances willbe reviewed on a case-by-case
basis. If the issue has not beenresolved to your satisfaction,follow the Customer SatisfactionProcedure on page 33.

Warranty Service – UnitedStates, Canada, and Mexico
The selling dealer has investedin the proper tools, training, andparts inventory to ensure that anynecessary warranty repairs canbe made to your GM vehicle.
GM requests that the vehicle bereturned to the selling dealer forall warranty repairs. If a situationor event occurs where you aresignificantly inconvenienced, anauthorized GM dealer can make thewarranty repairs. However, in theevent the dealer is not able toperform the repair due to the specialtool and training requirements,contact the Customer AssistanceOffices on page 38. If you areunable to return to the sellingdealer, contact a GM dealer in theUnited States, Canada, or Mexicofor warranty service.

Federal. Gasoline Engines
‐ Defects and performancefor cars and light duty truckemission control systems arecovered for the first 2 yearsor 24,000 miles, whichevercomes first. From the first2 years or 24,000 miles to
3 years or 36,000 milesdefects in material orworkmanship continue tobe covered under the NewVehicle Limited WarrantyBumper-to-Bumper coverageexplained previously. Specifiedmajor components arecovered for the first 8 yearsor 80,000 miles, whichevercomes first.

California. Gasoline Engines

Noise Emissions. Coverage is for applicable
vehicles weighing over10,000 lbs based on the GrossVehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)only, for the entire life of thevehicle.

4 New Vehicle Limited Warranty
GM will provide for repairs to thevehicle during the warranty period inaccordance with the following terms,conditions, and limitations.
What Is Covered
Warranty Applies
This warranty is for GM vehiclesregistered in the United States andnormally operated in the UnitedStates or Canada, and is providedto the original and any subsequentowners of the vehicle during thewarranty period.
Repairs Covered
The warranty covers repairs tocorrect any vehicle defect, notslight noise, vibrations, or othernormal characteristics of the vehiclerelated to materials or workmanshipoccurring during the warrantyperiod. Needed repairs will beperformed using new orremanufactured parts.
No Charge
Warranty repairs, including towing,parts, and labor, will be made at nocharge.
Obtaining Repairs
To obtain warranty repairs, take thevehicle to a GMC dealer facilitywithin the warranty period andrequest the needed repairs.Reasonable time must be allowedfor the dealer to perform necessaryrepairs.
Warranty Period
The warranty period for allcoverages begins on the date thevehicle is first delivered or put inuse and ends at the expiration ofthe coverage period.
Bumper-to-Bumper Coverage
The complete vehicle is covered for3 years or 36,000 miles, whichevercomes first, except for othercoverages listed here under “WhatIs Covered” and those items listedunder “What Is Not Covered” later inthis section.
Powertrain Coverage
The powertrain is covered for5 years or 100,000 miles, whichevercomes first, except for othercoverages listed here under “Whatis Covered” and those items listedunder “What is Not Covered” later inthis section.

Engine Coverage includes: Allinternally lubricated parts, engine oilcooling hoses, lines, and radiators.Also included are all actuators andelectrical components internalto the engine (e.g., Active FuelManagement Valve Lifter OilManifold) cylinder head, block,timing gears, timing chain, timingcover, oil pump/oil pump housing,OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan,seals, gaskets, manifolds, flywheel,water pump, harmonic balancer,engine mount, turbocharger, andsupercharger. Timing belts arecovered until the first scheduledmaintenance interval.
Exclusions: Excluded from thepowertrain coverage are sensors,wiring, connectors, engine radiator,coolant hoses, coolant, and heatercore. Coverage on the enginecooling system begins at the inlet to
the water pump and ends with thethermostat housing and/or outletthat attaches to the return hose.Also excluded is the starter motor,entire pressurized fuel system(in-tank fuel pump, pressure lines,fuel rail(s), regulator, injectors, andreturn line) as well as the Engine/Powertrain Control Module and/ormodule programming.
Transmission/Transaxle Coverageincludes: All internally lubricatedparts, case, torque converter,mounts, seals, and gaskets aswell as any electrical componentsinternal to the transmission/transaxle. Also covered are anyactuators directly connected to thetransmission (slave cylinder, etc.).
Exclusions: Excluded fromthe powertrain coverage aretransmission cooling lines, hoses,radiator, sensors, wiring, and
electrical connectors. Also excludedare the clutch and pressure plateas well as any TransmissionControl Module and/or moduleprogramming.
Transfer Case Coverage includes:All internally lubricated parts, case,mounts, seals, and gaskets aswell as any electrical componentsinternal to the transfer case. Alsocovered are any actuators directlyconnected to the transfer case aswell as encoder motor.
Exclusions: Excluded from thepowertrain coverage are transfercase cooling lines, hoses, radiator,sensors, wiring, and electricalconnectors as well as the transfercase control module and/or moduleprogramming.

Drive Systems Coverageincludes: All internally lubricatedparts, final drive housings, axleshafts and bearings, constantvelocity joints, propeller shaftsand universal joints. All mounts,supports, seals, and gaskets aswell as any electrical componentsinternal to the drive axle. Alsocovered are any actuators directlyconnected to the drive axle(e.g., front differential actuator).
Exclusions: Excluded from thepowertrain coverage are all wheelbearings, drive wheel front andrear hub bearings, locking hubs,drive system cooling, lines, hoses,radiator, sensors, wiring andelectrical connectors related todrive systems as well as any drivesystem control module and/ormodule programming.
Tire Coverage
The tires supplied with your vehicle are covered by General Motors againstdefects in material or workmanship under the bumper-to-bumper warrantycoverage. Wear-out is not considered a defect, and it may occur before thevehicle warranty expires. In this case, the owner is responsible to purchasereplacement tires, or seek coverage solely from the tire manufacturer. Forvehicles within the bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage, defective tires willbe replaced on a prorated adjustment basis according to the followingmileage-based schedule:

This schedule applies to the price ofthe tires only. GM will cover 100% ofthe cost to mount and balance thetires replaced under warranty for thefull bumper-to-bumper warrantyperiod.
After your New Vehicle LimitedWarranty expires, you may stillhave prorated warranty coverageon your original equipment tiresby the tire manufacturer.

When a tire is removed from servicedue to a covered warranty conditionunder a tire manufacturer's limitedwarranty program, you may beeligible for a tire replacement or acomparable new tire on a proratedbasis.
The tire manufacturer's limitedwarranty program, which can beobtained by calling or visiting thetire manufacturer's website orany authorized dealer, is in lieu ofall other remedies or warranties,expressed or implied, arising by law
or otherwise, including fitnessfor a particular purpose ormerchantability. The tiremanufacturers expressly disclaimliability for indirect, special,incidental, or consequentialdamages, lost profit, loss of

business, loss of goodwill, loss ofreputation, punitive or any otherdamage, cost, or loss of any kind.*
*Some states do not allow theexclusion or limitation of incidentalor consequential damages, so theabove limitations or exclusion maynot apply to you.
Accessory Coverages
All GM parts and accessories soldand permanently installed on a GMvehicle by a GM Dealer or GMapproved Accessory Distributor/Installer (ADI) prior to delivery willbe covered under the applicableportion (Bumper-to-Bumper,Powertrain, etc.) of the New VehicleLimited Warranty. In the event GMaccessories are installed aftervehicle delivery, or are replacedunder the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty, they will be covered,parts and labor, for the balance of
the applicable portion of the NewVehicle Limited Warranty, but inno event less than 12 months/12,000 miles.
GM accessories sold over thecounter, or those not requiringinstallation, will continue to receivethe standard GM Dealer PartsWarranty of 12 months from the dateof purchase, parts only.
GM Licensed Accessoriesare covered under theaccessory-specific manufacturer'swarranty and are not warranted byGM or its dealers.
Notice: This warranty excludes:
Any communications device thatbecomes unusable or unable tofunction as intended due tounavailability of compatiblewireless service or GPS satellitesignals.
Sheet Metal Coverage
Sheet metal panels are coveredagainst corrosion and rust-throughas follows:
Corrosion: Body sheet metalpanels are covered against rust for3 years or 36,000 miles, whichevercomes first.
Rust-Through: Any body sheetmetal panel that rusts through,an actual hole in the sheet metal,is covered for up to 6 years or100,000 miles, whichever comesfirst.
Important: Cosmetic or surfacecorrosion, resulting from stonechips or scratches in the paint, forexample, is not included in sheetmetal coverage.

Towing
Towing is covered to the nearestGMC dealer if your vehicle cannotbe driven because of a warranteddefect.
6.6L Duramax® Diesel EngineCoverage
For trucks equipped with a6.6L Duramax Diesel Engine, thediesel engine, except those itemslisted under “What Is Not Covered”later in this section, is coveredfor 5 years or 100,000 miles,whichever comes first. Foradditional information, refer toThings to Know About the NewVehicle Limited Warranty onpage 16. Also refer to theappropriate emission controlsystem warranty for possibleadditional coverages.
Tire and Wheel Damage or Wear
Normal tire wear or wear-out is notcovered. Tire wear is influencedby many variables such as roadconditions, driving styles, vehicleweight, and tire construction.Uniform tire wear is a normalcondition, and is not considereda defect. Road hazard damagesuch as punctures, cuts, snags,and breaks resulting from potholeimpact, curb impact, or fromother objects and tire weardue to misalignment beyondthe maintenance period is notcovered. Also, damage fromimproper inflation, overloading,spinning, as when stuck in mud orsnow, tire chains, racing, impropermounting or dismounting, misuse,negligence, alteration, improperrepair, accident, collision, fire,vandalism, or misapplication is notcovered. Damage to wheels or tiresidewalls caused by automatic carwashes or cleaning agents is notcovered.
What Is Not Covered
Damage Due to Bedliners
Owners of trucks with a bedliner,whether after-market or factoryinstalled, should expect that withnormal operation the bedliner willmove. This movement may causefinish damage. Therefore, anydamage caused by the bedliner isnot covered under the terms of theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Damage Due to Accident, Misuse,or Alteration
The New Vehicle Limited Warrantydoes not cover damage caused asthe result of any of the following:. Collision, fire, theft, freezing,
vandalism, riot, explosion,or objects striking the vehicle
. Misuse of the vehicle such asdriving over curbs, overloading,racing, or other competition.Proper vehicle use is discussedin the owner manual.

. Alteration, modification,or tampering to the vehicle,including, but not limited tothe body, chassis, powertrain,driveline, software, or othercomponents after final assemblyby GM.
. Coverages do not applyif the odometer has beendisconnected, its reading hasbeen altered, or mileage cannotbe determined.
. Installation of non-GM (GeneralMotors) parts
. Water or fluid contamination
. Damage resulting from hail,floods, windstorms, lightning,and other environmentalconditions
. Alteration of glass parts byapplication of tinting films
Important: This warranty is void onvehicles currently or previously titledas salvaged, scrapped, junked,or otherwise considered a total loss.
Damage or Corrosion Dueto Environment, ChemicalTreatments, or AftermarketProducts
Damage caused by airborne fallout,rail dust, salt from sea air, salt orother materials used to control roadconditions, chemicals, tree sap,stones, hail, earthquake, water orflood, windstorm, lightning, theapplication of chemicals or sealantssubsequent to manufacture, etc., isnot covered. See “Chemical PaintSpotting” under Things to KnowAbout the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty on page 16.
Damage Due to Insufficient orImproper Maintenance
Damage caused by failure to followthe recommended maintenanceschedule intervals and/or failureto use or maintain proper fluids,or maintain fluids betweenrecommended maintenanceintervals, fuel, lubricants,or refrigerants recommended inthe owner manual is not covered.
Damage Due to Contaminated orPoor Quality Fuel
Poor fuel quality or incorrect fuelmay cause driveability problemssuch as hesitation, lack of power,stalling, or failure to start. It mayalso render gauges inoperableor degrade functionality forcomponents such as spark plugs,oxygen sensors, and the catalyticconverter. Damage from poorfuel quality, water contamination,or incorrect diesel fuel or gasolinemay not be covered.

Damage Due to Impact, Use,or the Environment
Windshield or glass cracks, chips,or scratches due to impact are notcovered. Windshield cracks will becovered for the first 12 months,regardless of mileage if caused bydefects in material or workmanship.
Lights, lenses, mirrors, paint, grille,moldings and trim are not coveredfor cracks, chips, scratches, dents,dings, and punctures or tears as aresult of impact with other objects orroad hazards. In addition, cracks,chips, scratches, or other damageto the face of a radio or instrumentcluster from impact or foreignobjects are not covered.
Maintenance
All vehicles require periodicmaintenance. Maintenanceservices, such as those detailed inthe owner manual are the owner'sexpense. Vehicle lubrication,cleaning, or polishing are notcovered. Failure of or damage to
components requiring replacementor repair due to vehicle use, wear,exposure, or lack of maintenance isnot covered.
Items such as:. Audio System Cleaning. Brake Pads/Linings. Clutch Linings. Coolants and Fluids. Filters. Keyless Entry (or other remote
transmitter/receiver batteries)*. Limited Slip Rear Axle Service. Tire Rotation. Wheel Alignment/Balance**. Wiper Inserts
are covered up to the firstmaintenance inspection periodoutlined in the owner manual.Any replacement at the time of,or beyond the maintenanceinspection period is consideredmaintenance, and is not covered
as part of the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty. The New Vehicle LimitedWarranty only covers componentswhen replacement or repair of thesecomponents is the result of a defectin material or workmanship.
* Consumable battery covered up to12 months only.
** Maintenance items after7,500 miles.
Extra Expenses
Economic loss or extra expense isnot covered.
Examples include:. Inconvenience. Lodging, meals, or other travel
costs. Loss of vehicle use. Payment for loss of time or pay. State or local taxes required on
warranty repairs. Storage

This service isintended to reduce the amount oftime your vehicle is not available foruse due to repairs. All exchange components usedmeet GM standards and arewarranted the same as newcomponents. Warranty Repairs – RecycledMaterials
Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) guidelines and GM supportthe capture, purification, and reuseof automotive air conditioningrefrigerant gases and enginecoolant. As a result, any repairs GMmay make to your vehicle mayinvolve the installation of purifiedreclaimed refrigerant and coolant.

Chemical Paint Spotting
Some weather and atmosphericconditions can create a chemicalfallout. Airborne pollutants canfall upon and adhere to painted
surfaces on your vehicle. Thisdamage can take two forms:blotchy, ring-shaped discolorations,and/or small irregular dark spotsetched into the paint surface.
Although no defect in the factoryapplied paint causes this, GMC willrepair, at no charge to the owner,the painted surfaces of new vehiclesdamaged by this fallout conditionwithin 12 months or 12,000 miles ofpurchase, whichever comes first.
WarrantyCoverage – Extensions
Time Extensions: The NewVehicle Limited Warranty will beextended one day for each daybeyond the first 24 hour periodin which your vehicle is at anauthorized dealer facility forwarranty service. You may be askedto show the repair orders to verifythe period of time the warranty is tobe extended. Your extension rightsmay vary depending on state law.

If you have permanently relocatedand established householdresidency in another country, GMmay authorize the performanceof repairs under the warrantyauthorized for vehicles generallysold by GM in that country. Contactan authorized GM dealer in yourcountry for assistance.
Important: GM warranty coveragesmay be void on GM vehicles thathave been imported/exported forresale.
Original Equipment Alterations
This warranty does not cover anydamage or failure resulting frommodification or alteration to thevehicle's original equipment asmanufactured or assembled byGeneral Motors. Additionally, General Motorsdoes not warranty non‐GM parts,calibrations, and/or softwaremodifications. The use ofparts, control module calibrations,software modifications, and/orany other alterations not issuedthrough General Motors will voidthe warranty coverage for thosecomponents that are damaged orotherwise affected by the installationof the non‐GM part, control modulecalibration, software modification,and/or other alteration.

Recreation Vehicle and SpecialBody or Equipment Alterations
Installations or alterations to theoriginal equipment vehicle orchassis, as manufactured andassembled by GM, are not coveredby this warranty. The special bodycompany, assembler, or equipmentinstaller is solely responsiblefor warranties on the body orequipment and any alterations toany of the parts, components,systems, or assemblies installedby GM. Examples include, butare not limited to, special bodyinstallations, such as recreationalvehicles, the installation of anynon-GM part, cutting, welding,or the disconnecting of originalequipment vehicle or chassis partsand components, extension ofthe wheelbase, suspension anddriveline modifications, and axleadditions.
Pre-Delivery Service
Defects in the mechanical,electrical, sheet metal, paint, trim,and other components of yourvehicle may occur at the factory orwhile it is being transported to thedealer facility. Normally, any defectsoccurring during assembly areidentified and corrected at thefactory during the inspectionprocess. In addition, dealers inspecteach vehicle before delivery. Theyrepair any uncorrected factorydefects and any transit damagedetected before the vehicle isdelivered to you.
Any defects still present at the timethe vehicle is delivered to you arecovered by the warranty. If you findany defects, advise your dealerwithout delay. For further detailsconcerning any repairs which thedealer may have made prior to youtaking delivery of your vehicle, askyour dealer.

Replacement PartsThe emission control systems ofyour vehicle were designed, built,and tested using genuine GMparts* and the vehicle is certified asbeing in conformity with applicablefederal and California emissionrequirements. Accordingly,it is recommended that anyreplacement parts used formaintenance or for the repairof emission control systems benew, genuine GM parts.

The warranty obligations are notdependent upon the use of anyparticular brand of replacementparts. The owner may elect touse non-genuine GM parts forreplacement purposes. Use ofreplacement parts which are not ofequivalent quality may impair theeffectiveness of emission controlsystems.
If other than new, genuine GMparts are used for maintenancereplacements or for the repair ofparts affecting emission control, theowner should assure himself/herselfthat such parts are warranted bytheir manufacturer to be equivalentto genuine GM parts in performanceand durability.
* “Genuine GM parts,” when usedin connection with GM vehicles,means parts manufactured by orfor GM, designed for use on GMvehicles, and distributed by anydivision or subsidiary of GM.
Maintenance and Repairs
Maintenance and repairs can beperformed by any qualified serviceoutlet; however, warranty repairsmust be performed by an authorizeddealer except in a situation wherethe vehicle owner is significantlyinconvenienced and a warrantedpart or a warranty station is notreasonably available to the vehicleowner.
In a situation where thevehicle owner is significantlyinconvenienced, and an authorizeddealer is not reasonably available,repairs may be performed at anyavailable service establishmentor by the owner, using anyreplacement part. GMC willconsider reimbursement for theexpense incurred, includingdiagnosis, not to exceed themanufacturer's suggested retailprice for all warranted partsreplaced and labor charges
based on GMC's recommendedtime allowance for the warrantyrepair and the geographicallyappropriate labor rate. A part notbeing available within 10 days or arepair not being completed within30 days constitutes a significantinconvenience. Retain receiptsand failed parts in order to receivecompensation for warranty repairsreimbursable due to an emergency.
If you are in a situation where youare significantly inconveniencedand it is necessary to have repairsperformed by other than a GMCdealer and you believe the repairsare covered by emission warranties,take the replaced parts and yourreceipt to a GMC dealer forreimbursement consideration.This applies to both the FederalEmission Defect Warranty andFederal Emission PerformanceWarranty.

Receipts and records covering theperformance of regular maintenanceor repairs (such as those outlinedearlier) should be retained in theevent questions arise concerningmaintenance. These receipts andrecords should be transferred toeach subsequent owner. GM willnot deny warranty coverage solelyon the absence of maintenancerecords. However, GM may deny awarranty claim if a failure to performscheduled maintenance resulted inthe failure of a warranty part.
Claims Procedure
As with the other warrantiescovered in this booklet, take yourvehicle to any authorized GMCdealer facility to obtain serviceunder the emission warranty. Thisshould be done as soon as possibleafter failing an EPA-approved I/Mtest or a California smog check test,or at any time you suspect a defectin a part.
Those repairs qualifying under thewarranty will be performed by anyGMC dealer at no charge. Repairswhich do not qualify will be chargedto you. You will be notified as towhether or not the repair qualifiesunder the warranty within areasonable time, not to exceed30 days after receipt of the vehicleby the dealer, or within the timeperiod required by local or state law.
The only exceptions would be if yourequest or agree to an extension,or if a delay results from eventsbeyond the control of your dealer orGM. If you are not so notified, GMwill provide any required repairs atno charge.
In the event a warranty matter isnot handled to your satisfaction,refer to the Customer SatisfactionProcedure on page 33.

Laws in many states permit ownersto obtain a replacement vehicleor a refund of the purchase priceunder certain circumstances. Theprovisions of these laws vary fromstate to state. California Civil Code Section1793.2(d) requires that, if GM or itsrepresentatives are unable to repaira new motor vehicle to conform tothe vehicle's applicable expresswarranties after a reasonablenumber of attempts, GM shalleither replace the new motorvehicle or reimburse the buyer theamount paid or payable by thebuyer. California Civil CodeSection 1793.22(b) creates apresumption that GM has hada reasonable number of attemptsto conform the vehicle to itsapplicable express warranties if,within 18 months from delivery tothe buyer or 18,000 miles on thevehicle's odometer, whicheveroccurs first, one or more of thefollowing occurs:. The same nonconformity results
in a condition that is likely tocause death or serious bodilyinjury if the vehicle is drivenAND the nonconformity has
been subject to repair two ormore times by GM or its agentsAND the buyer or lessee hasdirectly notified GM of theneed for the repair of thenonconformity.
