DESCRIPTION

"XL, L, M, S, FL"With the exhibition was trying to explore the potential of the unique variety of backgrounds that come together in a single place during the INCM. We requested 40 approaches to one theme, 40 points of views on one spot and 40 statements about Liechtenstein (FL). While everyone knows his own country very well, a deep investigation of Liechtenstein is unrealistic. However participants understand one of the most dominant parameters of Liechtenstein, its dimension, 27km x 5km x 2 km. Use your intuition, imagination, your skills of visual communication and insert your country here! Squeeze it, shrink it, melt it, rip it off and reassemble it in the size of Liechtenstein. Photoshop, draw a plan, build a model and compose one strong A1. Represent your country in a public exhibition in one of the most exciting cultural spaces of the region, in the heart of Liechtenstein, the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein.

AlbaniaAlbania

The goat is one of the albanian national symbols.we learn from nature.Goats can fit in the smallest, highest places. Goats adapt, like we can, people of small european mountain countries.

Armenia

Highland Armenia is a small country but has very rich cultural history as well as Liechtenstein. By the right they can be considered as open-air museums . So far apart but they are so similar. The road separates as but somewhere in a distance it unites. And I go through this road to reach that point.

Germany and Liechtenstein are two countries in Europe with a lot in common. History, tradition, movement, Language and Landscape are forming their images. They are shaped out of the vast amount of characters representing the mixture of Europe. The countries are not equal in size but have different qualities which make both important within Europe.

Greece

Is a country defined by its size? Lichtenstein having the size of a Greek island, totally self-sufficient but strongly connected to its neighbors, like the islands do depend on Piraeus Port concerning accessibility, proves the contrary.Liechtenstein is a thesaurus, as the islands are for Greece.Accessible islands=tourism =stronger economyTourists need directionsMap= navigation tool Live your myth in Liechtenstein!

Comparisons use the classical indexes taught to school to define the states, typical they are: the area, the density and the richness. These abstract concepts are made visible stretching and deforming the borders, so the dimension of a small nation, can vary in unexpected way: precious things goes in small boxes

Norway

The main idea is to focus on some of the similarities between Liechtenstein and Norway. Both countries are quite rural, and the nature is dominant- with the Alps of Liechtenstein and the long coastline of Norway. The urban area is traditional Norwegian housing and famous buildings from Liechtenstein combined together.

Poland

Portugal

Better than finding a way of squeezing Portugal to the size of Liechtenstein, we found it less painful to find a place that would fit to Liechtenstein as well as Liechtenstein would fit here. Piódão is an historically pre-served small village in the heart of Portugal, and will be moved across the water to the hills of the Vaduz’s castle pretty soon!

The poster represents Bucharest trying to squeeze it’s 280 kmp in the dimensions of Liechtenstein. It shows how a small country like that would deal with such an urban landscape. The nature of Liechtenstein is being completely invaded by that of the big city. The skyline is being changed and the buildings are distorsed by the shape of the mouintans so they can all fit in. The trafic of Bucharest is trying to move into Liechtenstein but they can’t all fit in so they produce huge traffic jams at the entrance. The interventions over Liechten-stein are made in red mostly, representing the agresivity that they bring, while the original country aspects are kept green to show the care for nature.

Liechtenstein.. Slovenija.. What? Where?Being small country is great! You have your own tax-policy, the president/regent get only few angry letters in one day and you don’t have a big rivalry to get to EASA.Don’t bother about the size.

A BIG PERCENTAGE OF THE SPANISH TERRITORY HAS NO DESIGNATED USE OR ITS USE IS BOUND TO VARY FROM NATURAL TO URBANISED. OVER THE LAST DECADES SPECULATION HAS INCREASED DUE TO A RELAXATION OF THE GOVERNAMENTAL INSTRUMENTS TO PROSECUTE THESE ACTS AND THE LACK OF A COMPREHENSIVE LAND PLANNING LAW.HOWEVER, THE CRISIS AND THE CONCERN OF THE EU OVER THE LAST YEARS START TO SHOW THINGS ARE CHANGING.
