Services
We work hard to reduce the risks that impact design, budget, schedule and communication. We begin analyzing all aspects of the project starting from the moment we meet with you.
Accurate cost control procedures to estimate, track and contain costsWe review the design to identify all the important elements and evaluate
alternative building considerations for cost and budget purposes.
Through our cost reports, you can make informed decisions.
Detailed coordination and planningOur team has a complete and thorough understanding of the project
because the “main players” are involved right from preconstruction.
There’s a far less chance of miscommunication and errors.
Accurate schedulingOur Master Schedule, completed early in the preconstruction process,
contains critical milestones and interfaces between the design, con-
struction and occupancy phases. It helps keep your project moving
along right on schedule.
Close and constant eye on quality controlDuring construction, we provide a full-time Superintendent at each
job site and staff the job with trained craftsmen. Our managers and
supervisors rigorously inspect at all stages of the process for quality
results.
Updated training and procedures to assure safety on the siteOur procedures and training are among the most competitive in the industry.
Since we ensure a working relationship free from financial troubles, we pass
savings back to you.
COMMunICATIOn & TECHnOLOGY
Communication and teamwork are fundamental to the success of
the construction approach. Throughout the project, communication
meetings with the Client, the Design Team, sub-contractors and ICI
project team personnel will be conducted to provide updates on
progress, schedules, preparation for upcoming activities and feedback
will be solicited on all levels.
These “face to face” meetings allow the different parties to deliver
feedback and provide updates to the various team members along with
discussing function, aesthetic needs/desires, cost, constructability and
scheduling.
The meetings help the team arrive at decisions/designs that meet
the owners needs and desires, along with meeting cost parameters
and schedule. This approach focuses on reducing risk associated
with design, budget and schedule and getting decisions quickly and
efficiently. We strive to create effective communication between the
project team and organize the project for maximum efficiency. We
understand the importance of an experienced team in order for goals
to become a reality.
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT
Besides “face to face “ meetings, our team utilizes many tools to help
us manage our projects. Our project/communication management
methodology is based on the use of high-technology solutions to
expedite and improve the performance of our professionals. Our
objective is to make technological investments today in order to meet
the increasingly fast-paced and competitive construction market of
tomorrow.
Prolog Website 7.2. is of key importance. This project management
system is accessible to all members of the Project Team and allows
them to have 24/7 real-time access to project information. The
program, Prolog Manager, streamlines project administration methods
and processes. Through this system, project team members can
place project specific information online such as addendum updates,
important schedules, photos and project weather forecasts, forward an
RFI, create and send a change order, send and receive feedback and
document all correspondence.

THE BLOCK CEnTER FOR InTEGRATIVE CAnCER CARESKOKIE, IL
Founded nearly 30 years ago, the Block Center for Integrative Cancer
Care is a leader in the field of cancer treatment. Patients turn to
the Block Center for a combination of state-of-the-art conventional
cancer treatments and scientifically-based integrative therapies.
These integrative therapies are customized to the individual’s needs
and can include anything from personalized nutrition plans to
targeted molecular therapies to physical exercise regiments.
The Block Center team that develops these treatments and
therapies includes board-certified oncologists, internists, physicians
assistants, oncology nurses, psychologists, social workers, registered
dieticians, physical and massage therapists, medical researchers,
complementary care specialists, medical researchers and patient
care coordinators.
This large group of specialists depends upon an environment that
allows their patients the best opportunity to improve their overall
quality of life while undergoing cancer treatment. For this reason,
their newly renovated and expanded 18,000 SF space in Skokie
contains a variety of unique spaces with a common theme: providing
comfort to those undergoing treatment.
International Contractors collaborated with YAS Architecture on the
construction of this 4,500 SF first floor addition and 13,500 SF

renovation. ICI constructed twenty-two chemotherapy rooms, five
wellness/exam rooms, a physical therapy space, men’s and women’s
saunas, a demonstration kitchen, lecture area, patient lounge,
physicians’ offices and clinical areas.
The project incorporated many complex components and upgraded
finishes to provide patients with a high degree of comfort. The
design called for an abundance of natural light throughout the
space, creating a calming atmosphere for those receiving treatment.
The patient lounge in the atrium uses both natural light and soft
artificial lighting and plush furniture to create a comforting, home-
like environment. The large, sweeping staircase in the center of the
building links the floors in an open, spacious manner and the exam
rooms avoid a sterile feel through the use images from nature on
the walls. A Zen Garden at the entry of the building also serves to
reduces patient apprehension and boost treatment effectiveness.

CEnTRAL duPAGE HOSPITAL CYTOLOGY dEPARTMEnT
WInFIELd, IL
ICI’s project team began renovations to this 4,000 SF interior space
at Central DuPage Hospital in early July. The eight-week project will
transform the hospital’s original Surgical Department on the 3rd floor
of the East Building into new space for the Cytology Department.
Prior to beginning demolition of the existing space, ICI’s project
team, management staff and subcontractors attended infectious
disease training in order to adequately prepare for the many
challenges presented by working in an occupied hospital.
Cytology, which is the study of cells to detect abnormalities, is used
extensively to diagnose cancer, identify infectious organisms and in
fetal screening for birth defects.
Once complete, the space will include an Equipment Room, Work
and Office Areas, and a Break Room. Finishes will include carpet
tile, 2 x 2 acoustic ceiling tile, new doors and walls painted with
CDH standard colors.
ICI will also install new hot water booster coils to heat the space and
provide connection to the existing hospital infrastructure.
ABOuT CdH
Since opening in 1964, Central DuPage Hospital has provided
comprehensive medical and surgical services. The hospital has
grown from a 113-bed acute care hospital with 66 physicians in
1964, to a 313-bed full-service hospital with a medical staff of
more than 900 physicians.

CEnTRAL duPAGE HOSPITAL SOuTH BuILdInG REnOVATIOn WInFIELd, IL
International Contractors, Inc. recently complete multiple renovation
projects within Central DuPage Hospital’s (CDH) South Building.
Portions of the third floor were built-out into patient overflow rooms,
along with the associated nurse station, clinical support facilities and
staff offices. In keeping with the hospital’s commitment to patient-
centered care, each of the overflow rooms has high level finishes.
The rooms also contain medical gas, nurse call and associated care
systems.
On the fifth floor, 14,000 square feet were converted into additional
office space that is occupied by multiple hospital departments.
Along with the renovations, new fiber optic voice/data infrastructure
facilities were installed throughout the two floors.
The South Building is embedded within the hospital’s campus and
is not accessible from the ground on any elevation. As such, a
particularly complex portion of the renovation was the complete
removal and replacement of the building’s air handling units, return
air fans, mechanical pumps, piping, temperature controls and
associated systems.
The replacement of the two air handling units (which serve the entire
South Building) requires that each unit be broken down individually
and removed piece-by-piece through a 3’ door, navigated through
a stairwell and out of the building. A temporary ductwork system
was constructed on thebuilding’s unoccupied fourth floor and was
employed until the new units were fully commissioned.
Each of these renovation projects required an extensive amount of
coordination with hospital staff and administration to keep noise
levels at a minimum, as they were constructed near occupied spaces.
ICI delivered these projects in June 2012. The completion marked
the fourth project the ICI team has turned over to Central DuPage
Hospital within the past year.

GOTTLIEB MEMORIAL HOSPITAL • 701 West north Ave. Melrose Park, IllinoisInternational Contractors, Inc. was contracted in 2007 for interior renovation work at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, part of the Loyola Univer-sity Health System. The ten-week project included work in three areas of the hospital; the Purchasing Office, CT Exam Room and Morgue. Work in the Purchasing Office included demolition of walls, ceiling and flooring and installation of new masonry walls to accommodate a new office configuration.
Before work could begin in the Morgue, ICI assisted the Owner in preparing a new area to be used as a temporary morgue during the construction process. The existing cooler was demolished to make room for a new, larger cooler and associated equipment. Additionally, the MEP systems were upgraded and new terrazzo flooring and ceilings were installed. ICI worked with the Owner’s vendor to coordinate the installation of the new equipment.
The CT Exam Room work also included demolition of the existing space to make room for new equipment. Upgrading the new MEP systems in this area included the installation of a new Inergen fire suppression system. ICI also upgraded all new finishes, including casework, rubber flooring, ceilings, lighting, etc. ICI coordinated equipment installation with all Owner Vendors and worked with the IDPH for all inspections and approvals.

LAKE FOREST HOSPITAL • 900 north Westmoreland, Suite LL-84; Lake Forest, IllinoisInternational Contractors, Inc. was contracted to remodel this 3,000 SF area to be used for an optical exam room, office space, reception area and patient waiting area. The finishes in the reception area included cherry wood chair rails and baseboards as well as a cherry wood veneer-topped desk. Faux paint finishes complete the decor’s upscale appearance.
The millwork package proved to be a long lead time item on this project, but the International Contractors’ team was able to accommodate the schedule by installing framing and allowing the millwork subcontractor to record field dimensions. Because of this coordinated effort, shop drawings were created and approved quickly and the project schedule was maintained. This project had a tight eight week schedule and ICI was not only able to meet the hospital’s required schedule, we did so with minimal disruption of activities. Because of ICI’s diligent effort, adjacent space remained occupied and active throughout the course of construction.

AESTHETIC dEnTAL HEALTH CEnTER • 536 W. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois
This 4,872 SF freestanding, slab-on-grade structure is the new home for Aesthetic Dental Health Center and approximately 2,300 SF of
space for other tenants. The space has multiple dental stations that are serviced by underground raceways for electrical, gas and air service.
Raceway installation was eased by ICI’s careful trade coordination. Dr. Moy, who has been serving the dental needs of the Bolingbrook
community for over 20 years, was intricately involved in the project. Constant communication and coordination between the Owner and ICI
Superintendent was key to success as adjustments were made throughout construction to ensure the new facility not only met, but exceeded,
the high standards and expectations of Dr. Moy.
The high standards set by building codes in the Village of Bolingbrook are respected throughout the metropolitan area, and we were in
compliance each step of the way. Insulation standards, for example, mandate caulking header and corner joints. This minimizes air leak-
age between studs, thereby ensuring a tighter envelope for the buildings life cycle, regardless of wood’s expansion and contraction. During
construction, ICI was particularly cognizant of the adjacent building’s operations; our construction, beside a funeral home, was as non-
disruptive as possible.

MEdICAL MAnAGEMEnT OF AMERICA • 301 n. Harlem, Chicago, Illinois
The Medical Management of American Corporate Office Building is a three-story, state-of-the-art facility. The building contains three levels
of corporate offices and an outpatient surgical center, complete with two operating rooms. The structure consists of a conventional steel
super structure resting on reinforced concrete spread footing foundations. The building’s shell is a highly-insulated wall system with a pig-
mented Portland cement exterior skin. This system permits the creation of an attractive neo-classical cut stone appearance at a fraction of
the cost of cut stone.
International Contractors, Inc. also completed MOB interior build-out services for Medical Management of America at an existing facility
next door to the new corporate offices.

Glen oaks hospital • 701 Winthrop Avenue, Glendale Heights, Illinois
International Contractors, Inc. has partnered with Glen Oaks Hospital on multiple projects. The hospital, located in Glendale Heights,
has been serving surrounding communities for more than 25 years. The 186-bed facility offers a full range of services, including
emergency care, cardiology and cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, behavioral health and obstetrics. International
Contractors completed an exterior renovation of the Emergency Room Entrance and Canopy as well as the relocation of their existing
Server Room.
International Contractors, Inc. worked around existing networks and utilities to ensure that all hospital systems would remain
functioning during construction and coordinated the transfer to the new equipment upon completion. Working diligently throughout
the construction process, ICI maintained a tightly sealed workspace to minimize any construction dust or noise. The operations of
hospital staff and maintenance personnel were unaffected during construction.

International Contractors, Inc. was contracted for the extensive remodeling of existing hospital space at the university of Illinois. The
renovated spaces include the pharmacy and infectious disease areas. The project required demolition of existing walls, ductwork and
electrical piping and new plumbing fixtures. The Clinical Sciences department remained occupied as the remodeling progressed. To
keep disruption to surrounding areas to a minimum, the project team worked in small, contained areas throughout the course of the
project.
Our supervisory personnel continually worked with the Owner’s Representative to coordinate the work. dust control, contamination
