OBJECTIVE

Topic: Percent of Change – Increase and Decrease – as it applies to career choice based upon education level.

Do: Students will discover the percent of change between salaries for career choices based upon level of education.

Vocabulary Difference – The result of a subtraction problem. Associate’s Degree – A degree earned after a two-year course of study, usually awarded by a community college, technical college or junior college.

Bachelor’s Degree – A degree earned for an undergraduate course of study that normally requires three to five years of study, usually awarded by a university.

Master’s Degree – A degree earned for a graduate course of study in a specialized area that normally requires two additional years of study beyond a Bachelor’s Degree.

Percent of Change – A ratio that compares the change in quantity to the original amount. Can be an increase or decrease, depending on whether the amount increases or decreases from the original amount.
