Problems
• Lack of suitable traffic statistical measures for traffic conditions in Vietnam
– Lower accuracy of magnetic ring equipments in motorcycle high density conditions
– Unsuitable of Ultrasonic sensor technology for mixed-traffic, high cost
– Camera for traffic counting is suitable for motorcycle low density conditions

• Determine the level of traffic flow
• Count number of vehicles (e.g., bikes, cars,…) travelling in different traffic direction
• Measure average speed
• Work in different light conditions (day, night)

car)

• Test results – Off-peak hour: ~95%
