Some of the responsibilities of an administrator were:

Administer the estate.

Issued Letters of Administration under IAEA.

Compiled and submitted to the court an inventory of the assets of the estate.

Appraised assets.

Notified all creditors of the deceased and oversaw the payment of any outstanding debts.

Identified and collected all amounts due to the estate.

Prepared, filed and paid local, state and federal taxes owed by the estate.

Distributed the property in the estate.

At some point in time, you may be asked to serve as the administrator of the estate of a relative or friend, or you may ask someone to

serve as your administrator. An administrator’s job comes with many legal

obligations. Under certain circumstances, an administrator can even be held personally liable for unpaid estate taxes. Review the

major duties involved before you accept such a responsibility.
