This collection of digital images shows a progression of experiments accomplished with digital tools from 1996 – 1998. All works in this grouping were made “tabula rasa” (from a blank screen) using a number of different applications including Adobe Photoshop3.0 & 4.0 , Corel Painter3 and a number of filter sets including those from Alien Skin & Kai’s Power Tools.The inspiration for these images came directly from attempts to visualize certain aspects of science fiction novels and short stories from the 1950’s & 60’s. Many of the image files associated with these experiments are lost but those few that remain are typical of the work done in this time period.
