Margretedal, a district of heavy residential character needs public space to serve as a liveable community. The site has been transformed from suburban industry into a cultural integrational space. New functions extends the popoluar area of Mejeriet into the livingrooms of Margretedal and harmonizes the transition to the neighbouring city park.

Small-scale and low rise structures contrasts to residential barricades surrounding the nearby spaces. Trespassing the site has to be easy. Communication west-east runs along the day-water collection above ground. North-south communication provide the inhabitants of the area to discover their own shortcuts.
Public facilites like, kindergarten, museum, restaurants as well as space for activites during both day and night are important factors of a functioning community. This is made possible through the delicate positioning and articulation of private and public space.

HYGIENE
Rönnen is situated in central Malmö. The building-complex used to host hospital facilites but now serves as the largest student-housing in Sweden. ”Compact living” has never been less intresting.
This rooftop project aims to make ”compact” and ”student” as attractive and liveable as we need them too, for the sake of our academic future.

Apartment type 1by Jonna Idsäter
Apartment type 2
The student apartments are designed to host several combinations of people. The lovebird duo, the small group of friends as well as the couple with the third wheel. We want to make student housing cheap and accesible as well as luxiourius and flirt-avaiblable.

The construction of the teahouse allows daylight to slip in through the open corners. These corners give the house a specific character and view from the inside.
The design can be varied by extension, densification and shortenings but always retains the same principle and therefore its compliance.
Combinations of the type gives personality and variety, which is in alignment with the profile of Huseby today.
The wood shifts over the years into a beautiful gray color to match the forests of Småland during both winter and summer.
The shingle roof is made of cedar shavings of a soft, salmon-pink color. Cedar charac-teristics takes its toll in an environment with insects and the risk of rot.
The pitch of the roof reveals a hierarchy between the two volumes. It also contributes to an enhanced silhouette of one split body.
The bathtub, a simple and modest interior of the bathouse. The feeling of a private spa with a focus on recovery and meditation. The bathtub, symbolic for the core of the concept.
