Kindle Training Guide
To import the College’s material onto a Kindle, you will need a Kindle USB cable. Begin by creating a
folder for the files on your PC (Suggestion: Kindle documents, Kindle Fire documents, etc).
You will need to connect your Kindle to
your PC via a USB cable. It will appear
as a removable storage disk (like a
thumb drive, or camera).
You can access the College’s website
directly from their computer by typing
www.cffp.edu into their web browser.
Once there, click on “Student Login”
and enter your name/password.
To access the Kindle downloads, you will need to click on the title of your course.
If you are in a Program, they will need to click on the course associated with that program.
Once you click on the course title, the Kindle
format will be available under “Downloads.”
You will need to click on the “Complete
module download in Kindle format” for the Kindle
compatible file.
Once you click on the link, another window will
pop up. To save the file to your PC, click on
“Save.”
The computer will ask where to save the
document. Select the folder created for the Kindle
documents. Click Open.
The module will download into the designated file. Once completed, click “Open folder” to begin the
transfer to the Kindle, or close to repeat the above steps for the additional modules.
Once you are ready to
transfer modules to the Kindle,
open the folder containing the
Kindle documents (created in
step one). In addition, open the
“removable disk” (i.e. the Kindle)
located under the computer’s
list of devices by double‐clicking
on it.
Once open, click and drag the module file located in the “Kindle Fire Documents” folder into the
DOCUMENTS folder of the removable disk (Kindle). DO NOT place the file in the “books” folder as it will
not display on the Kindle.
Once this has been placed in the documents folder, the file will appear in that folder.
You can then disconnect the Kindle
from the computer and view the file on
the Kindle.
