accumulation of rapid spread, flash-in-the-pan technology, and the impact of the digital medium on perceptions of time and space.

Lucas realizes that the cutting edge always becomes dated at some point so she fashions a lot of her work around that

Name Change

Oct. 5, 2007:Alameda County, California county courthouse Kristin Sue Lucas changed her name to Kristin Sue Lucas

Redundancy was intended, the idea was to reload her idea like a webpage.

Next month at Postmaster Gallery in NY Lucas debuted refresh.

Refresh 2007

Installation of legal documents, newspaper clippings and sundry portraits, screenshots, inkjet prints, video images on monitors and so on depicting who she was before the judge declared her name changed.

An attempt to embody video in another form. When the wax begins melting it represents the video image moving. The video is turned on with the match.
