Why was La Défense created, and when was it
built? The business district was created in
the 1960’s to accumulate the offices of major companies by the government.
La Defense is the skyscraper district although the buildings are not that high – the tallest tower is 200 meters
Where is it located?
History
Named after the soldiers who “defended” Paris in the during the Franco Prussian war.
The Nobel Tower was the first tower built, in 1966.
Built in place for factories, shanties, and even few farms.
