ST. MARY MAGDALEN CATHOLIC COMMUNITY 30TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 28 OCTOBER 2018
ST. MARY MAGDALEN PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the Catholic Community of St. Mary Magdalen Embrace our baptismal commitment to Christ Live a life of faith, service, and worship Seek to transform the world through prayer & evangelization
“The blind man replied” Master, I want to see.”Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you”
Lord, I want to see.
Blind Bartimaeus calls out to
Jesus for healing. What needs
healing is his sight. How long
has he been blind? What will
he see with new sight and vision? We too
must face our own blindness as we ask Jesus
to see. So many things go unnoticed by our
view.
Do we want to be healed? Do we see fami-
lies struggling in division and brokenness?
Do we see some of our government policies
that hurt the poor, or refugees that beg an un-
willing world for help? Or people betrayed
by their own church?
Please Lord, as you restore our sight to see
the wrongs and the pains of our world, give
us also the courage and guidance of how to
respond better to the many needs in our
world.
Loving Jesus, open my eyes to see what you
want me to see. And let me respond with
your healing heart to care for those around
me. Guide me to remember that you will be
with me when I see some of the painful situ-
ations around me and show me
how to help. Amen.
