WHITE WINES NEW Val de Loire ‘Blanc de Lys’ Sauvignon Blanc, Delaunay 2015 From a top sauvignon producer, this is a delightful everyday wine, fragrant, fresh and fruity. Easy summer drinking. 12%
ref LB-LO12691 £6.75 bottle £81 dozen
Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur Lie, Domaine des Ratelles 2015A little riper and rounder in the 2015 vintage yet the Vinet family’s benchmark Muscadet still has its racy acidity, appetising salty tang and freshness. 12%
ref LB-LO12341 £6.75 bottle £81 dozen
It is rare in the Loire for a vintage to be successful across the board. The region covers such a vast area and so many different grape varieties and wine styles, that it’s uncommon to get good results everywhere. And yet, 2015 is about as good as it gets with glorious friendly, approachable wines with the Loire’s typical freshness shining through.
As we selected the wines for this offer, the big guns of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé needed more time in bottle and will be held back until ready to drink. Our focus here therefore is on the more immediate drinking pleasure (and excellent value for money) to be found in the lesser-known sauvignon blanc appellations of Menetou-Salon, Quincy and Reuilly, as well as the first Touraine Chenonceaux of the season. Vouvray had a great vintage too, making every style, if in cruelly small volumes. We release three wines from Domaine Huet for the first time.
Even more unusually, 2015 is also an excellent vintage for Loire reds. We offer a cross-section of earlier-drinking styles, as well as a tempting mix of rosés.
How lucky we are to enjoy a year that shows off the Loire’s many assets so successfully and comprehensively. The mixed cases are designed to help you enjoy the fruits of a great year in its many guises.

Menetou-Salon Morogues, Domaine Pellé 2015 Menetou is more delicate and a little less austere than its nearby neighbours Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, albeit with healthy ripe bloom in the 2015 vintage.
