that we plan, start and run our enterprises in a collective way
• Le Mat acts on local level for sustainable and responsible development and with a global vision we cooperate across borders
• Le Mat Europe is a European social franchisor, which strives to strengthen the brand and spread Le Mat’s idea to other countries. By doing so more social enterprises will start, and with them additional job opportunities will arise.
Italian roots
• The first Le Mat hotel was started in Trieste, Italy over 20 years ago.
• Le Mat is the French name of the fool in the tarot card deck. The Fool is a kind traveller, the spirit in search of experience. He represents the mystical cleverness bereft of reason within us, the childlike ability to tune into the inner workings of the world.

• The Le Mat traveler is curious and wants to understand what’s going on in the Le Mat community. She / he would like to contribute; to enhance and criticize, thereby becoming an important part of the community and its developing projects.
