• Since Israel’s creation in 1948, many Middle Eastern countries refuse to recognize Israel.

• Israel has been at war many times including the first Lebanon War in 1986.

The Beginning

• On July 12, 2006, Hezbollah fires missiles into small Israeli village.

• Missiles kills 3 Israeli soldiers and starts the 34-day war.

The War

• Consists mainly of rocket attacks and bombing with small ground attacks.

• U.S. not involved but many think it will with change in president.
