Lexus LC 500 Moves a Mountain… How it was done

After six months of planning, the brand new Lexus LC 500 2+2 coupe, 20 crew members, two lorries and six tonnes of equipment arrive in the Sierra Nevada mountains in Spain; their challenge: to create the biggest ever projection mapping, perfectly synchronised to appear as the car drives through the mountains

Four 30,000 lumen projectors – among the brightest in the world - are set up on a hillside to project against a cliff face half a kilometre away

The geometry of the cliff face is mapped by CAD) A bi-aural mike ensures the roar of the LC 500 engine is heard in both ears as it travels

The LC 500 is fitted with microphones at different points to pick up the sound of the engine

A series of seamless projected backdrops appears on the cliff face, timed to respond in perfect synchronisation with the sleek LC 500 as it powers through the twisting scenery
