1. Objective
This iPF PRO Service Tool Manual is the software designed for use in service devisions in each sales company for
services.
The purpose of this manual is as follows.
1) Printer firmware update function
2) Collecting function of printer information (PRINT INF and Status print).

Double click [cnwistp.exe] in cnwist.exe in [cnwist folder]

6. Functions
6-1. Basic Screen Component
Jump to each category by main menu buttons.
6-2. [Information] Screen
Acquire printer information from [Information] screen. The information printed in PRINT INF (service mode)
and status print (normal mode) is described in text by acquiring printer information.
6-2-1. Preparation of Printer
Press the printer power button and turn the status to online.
* When error or warning is indicated on the printer panel, printer information can be acquired via LAN connection only.
6-2-2. Operation Procedure
1) Click [Information] button.
2) Click [Refresh] button.
3) Select the printer that you want to acquire information from the printer list.
4) Click either [Display PRINT INF] or [Display Status Print] according to your necessity.

5) The User Information setting dialog is opened, and arbitrary information (such as printer serial no.)
is asked to input.

Open the acquired information from the specified application in [Open with] of [Setup]
dialog. At the same time, data is stored in the folder specified in the log control directory.

◆Explanation of printer list items
Items Contents
Printer Name Display information acquired from the printer.

6-3. [Firmware] Screen
Upload the firmware.
Type of file : fdl file

Press the printer power button and turn the status to online.
* Make sure that error or warning is not indicated on the printer panel.

6-3-2. Operation Procedure
1) Press the [Firmware] button.
2) Press the [Refresh] button.
3) Select the printer that you want to acquire information from the printer list.
4) Specify the file of the firmware to be uploaded.
5) Specify the file of the firmware to be uploaded.
When specifying the folder, the applicable firmware in the folder is retrieved and [Update Ver.] column has been updated as shown in (6).When specifying the file, the selected file is displayed as shown in (7).
6) Press the [Transfer Firmware] button to start uploading.
*After firmware is transferred, rewriting the firmware and restarting is performed on the printer
side automatically.

Note: The “Status” ([1] in the picture below) displays “Error or Processing” since a printer
does not respond during rewriting firmware in the printer after firmware transportation. In this case, error is not actually occurring. Check the message box at the lower of the screen ([2]
in the picture below) and the operation panel, and proceed the firmware updating. When updating the firmware is finished, the printer will restart automatically.
6-3-3. Firmware Forced Download Mode
[Firmware]⇒Select [Force Transfer Mode] to switch to force transfer mode.
It is possible to transfer an arbitrary file regardless of the printer status.
When the [Transfer Firmware] button is displayed in red, it means the firmware is in the Force Transfer Mode.
Note) When transferring an incorrect file, as it may destroy the printer firmware, please take extra care when
using this mode.
6-4. [File] Screen
Display the printer information acquired in [Information] screen and control its history.

6-4-1. How to Use
1) Press the [Files] button.
2) Select the log file which is desired to be displayed.
3) Press the [Display] button to display the log file.

6-5. Other Functions 6-5-1. Message saving dialog
In the message saving dialog, the history of messages which is displayed in the message area is saved. Max. of 2000
messages are saved in the text form and it is deleted in the order of old ones.
Pull-down>File>Set File Locked
Type Service: Display PRINT INF of Service Mode
Status: Display the Status Print of normal mode
User Information Display information input from Input User Information
dialog. If it is not input, [unset] is displayed and it
is possible to input from the [Input User Information] button.
