Jane baked a chocolate cake for her school friends. She took the cake out of the hot oven and put it on the table. She cut the cake with a sharp knife. Jane called her friends from her class. The boys came running into the room but let the girls have a slice of cake before them. The cake was delicious and had jam and cream in the middle. Jane was full of happiness, she wanted to eat more, but she didn’t want to be greedy.

Read through your work very carefully now and edit the following:

1. Spelling errors

2. Ensure punctuation has been used accurately

3. Ensure that you have written in full sentences (& used a variety)

4. Word choices – change at least 3 words in your writing. Ensure that the vocabulary choices you make are as precise as possible

5. Highlight a sentence that could be improved and rewrite it underneath your work focusing on making it more descriptive
