Our AWAKE portfolio site is now live! Still making some improvements and getting art-work uploaded, but you can jump in and start looking around.

We have two web addresses for you to choose from:

http://ArtBoja.com

(pronounced “Art Bo-Ya” where Boja trans-lates to the word “color”)

… or if it’s easier to remember:

http://ArtisanPortfolioPrints.com

As this magazine comes out on the 15th of each month you will be able to find new art-ists to explore on the portfolio site. All you need to do is visit the site and click the little magnifying glass in the top right corner to run a search for an artist’s name.

This will then pull up their portfolio so you can read a little about the artist and see all of their other amazing work.

WhatWhat’s more (and this is just as exciting) if you see some-thing you especially love, you will even be able to get a print or canvas of the work for your home (or your office perhaps, or maybe as a uniqueunique and exciting gift for the home or office of some-one close to you).

And if you really want to impress, there will even be some stunning specialty print formats available, both in metal and in plexiglass.

(And worth noting: You can also click the “Discover” tab and explore all the many other artists of AWAKE. Try it out. You’ll find a treasure trove of inspiring artwork.)

TheThe site is still technically in the develop-ment phase with a number of improvements in the works, but it’s ready for you to visit, and it’s only going to get better and better in the months ahead.

Be sure to go have a look.

Now … was there anything else especially exciting to mention? Hmmmm. Not really. Hard to top the new AWAKE portfolio site.

So after you look through the magazine, pick out your favorite artists and go visit the site and run a search to see if their portfolios have been uploaded yet.

Enjoy!Enjoy! I think you’re going to find the combi-nation of the magazine each month and the portfolio site perfectly enchanting.

Amanda Rockwell

Amanda turned up in the course early on, yet had already es-tablished herself as a professional brush designer with ScrapbookGraphics. Seeing the immediate artistic potential of her custom brush designs, I was excited when she offered to put together tutorials and a very artsy brush workshop.

Getting in there with paints and various art supplies (and all manner of stuff from around the house) is strangely ap-pealing I’ve found. Some kind of throwback to being a little kid, I suppose, back when it was perfectly acceptable to get glue and paint all over ourselves.

This kind of crea-tive play is miss-ing in the lives of many adult artists. And that’s unfortu-nate.

Amanda creates some great brushes for the course, but I think her greatest contribution is in encouraging digital artists to break out the art supout the art sup-plies now and then and actually create their own unique content. And have some fun at it!

Jen Maddocks of ScrapbookGraphics

When some students introduced me to the work of Jen Maddocks, I was quite knocked at. Here was a digital content creator who was as fabulous an artist as she was a designer.

I immediately began commissioning content from her for the “Awake” course, and her material has been a massive, massive hit with all of the artists. But then she went further and started creating original art of her own, showcasing herimmense talents — and the inspiration she has provided can’t immense talents — and the inspiration she has provided can’t be overstated. We are lucky to have her in our community and MORE than lucky to have her material and tutorials here in “Awake.”

Caroline Julia Moore

It’s not every day that I see former experts in cognitiveneuropsychology join our group.

But over the past year, I’ve watched as the immensely talented Caroline Julia Moore shifted from researching how the brain functions to becoming a full-time self-employed artist ... while also launching a successful content--design business

Caroline’s contribu-tions to the group have been a delight — not only in the content she has given us, but in the sheer inspiration afforded by her afforded by her beautiful art work.

I knew when I rst saw her work that she would be a re-markable asset, but I hardly expected that she would become such an active one!active one!

Tangie Baxter & Rebecca McMeen

Funny how names just keep turning up. Again and again and again I kept running into the name “Tangie” and one of her resident artists “Rebecca.” Seemed that in the span of a week they popped up ten times. And the artwork being creat-ed with their material was amazing. So I knew I had to get in touch with them and see if they were interested in being hired to license content for use in the course. They were. And their material has been a huge hit every time. And their material has been a huge hit every time.

Endlessly inventive, and wildly prolic, Tangie and Rebecca have been turning out some of the best artistic content in the industry this past year. We’re very, very lucky to have them with us!

Truly, I have found it almost overwhelming the immense generosity she exhibits week after week after week, continually crafting content for the “Awake” group, putting together tutorials whenever I am par-ticularly delighted by one of her compositions, and just alto-gether enriching our community through her wonderful spirit.

I think it safe to say that 2016 has been a monumental year for Teddi as a professional digital artist.

It’s exciting to be part of it, and delightful to see it take shape before our eyes.
