● Botanical Garden● Christiansborg Palace● Christiansborg Tårnet - Entry to the tower is free, view of Copenhagen till Sweden

(highest point)● Flying Tiger● Hans Christian Anderson Grave● Nyhavn - The canal street that everyone and their mom grams when they go to CPH. ● Ole & Steen Bakery● Rent a bicycle● Rosenborg Castle● Strøget - Longest shopping street, cuts through the city center● The Little Mermaid statue, Harborside

○ The Gefion Fountain, featuring the mythical Gefion and her oxen, is an imposing creation overlooked by St Alban's Church. Behind the fountain is Kastellet, a star-shaped fortress built in the 1600s to defend the city, and visitors are free to stroll the grounds and its historic buildings and windmill.

○ While certainly not considered a beach destination, Copenhagen is surrounded by water, and its harbour is clean enough to swim in. Though chilly, even in the summer months, Copenhagen’s harbour is popular spot for a dip in the warm (and sometimes cold) weather. The Islands Brygge harbour baths are free to use, though many locals just jump in straight from the docks.

● Tivoli Gardens - Amusement park in the city center. It's kind of expensive but a fun place to check out.

Other Things (Another student’s list)

Get a bike! It's the easiest way to get around, super easy (Copenhagen's bike lanes are fantastic), and an integral part of the Danish lifestyle!

Amalienborg - Queen’s residence. You can also see the famous Opera House across the water.

Rosenborg Castle and gardens - Royal castle in the city center. I think the inside of the castle is underwhelming, but the gardens are a nice place to take a breather during the day. If the sun's out, a lot of Danes will be doing the same!

Hamlet’s castle (Kronborg) - Go on a pretty day; takes a 30 min on train Church of our Savior - Church with an external spiral staircase right next to Christiania

If you’re into ballet, opera, theater go to a show at the student rate! Walk around / sit by the lakes by Norrebro Louisiana Museum - Modern art outside of Copenhagen (buy a 24-hour tourist ticket for

the train when you go there - it's cheaper!) They have a permanent installation of Yayoi Kusama's infinity room but it's hidden so easy to miss if you're not looking for it!

Amager Strand - Beach on Amager Bakken - Amusement park north of Copenhagen in a giant park called Dyrehave (free

entry, feels like a neighborhood carnival), there is also a beach there that is super nice. It's really not a must-see on a 3-day trip.

Superkilen Park and the green route - A cool urban park with art installations from all around the world (there's a Superkilen app that tells you all about them!)

Diamond Library - It's the royal library with very interesting interior that is half modern and half traditional

Assistens Kierkegaard - The cemetery where some famous Danes are buried (H.C. Andersen, Søren Kierkegaard) and is supposed to be a fun place to hang out in summertime (apparently Danes like to party in cemeteries - very different culture around the dead)

Copenhagen Contemporary - Contemporary art museum next to Copenhagen Street Food on Papirøen; has free admission on Tuesdays!

Frederiksberg Garden Museum for Kunst - National art museum; free; European art, but great

Danish/Scandinavian collection, a lot of modern art too Glyptotek - Originally owned by Carlsberg family, great variety of art, beautiful building Christiania - Where you can buy/smoke weed; green light district; free town; cool but

also sketchy; hang out there even if you don’t smoke weed! Carlsberg brewery tour - Danish beer Canal tour - Go when it’s sunny outside! Instead of the generic canal tour, I would

recommend the motor boats that leave from Amager (they have a little picnic table and you can take wine and snacks! Just be careful in the water because there are crazy jet skiers sometimes)

Kastellet - old fort in shape of a star; I ran there a lot; beautiful area!

Food:

Paper Island (Papirøen) - I recently heard that the food hall here may have closed, but if it didn't it's a must!

Glass market (Torvehallerne) Alabama Social Cafe Tænk Far's Dreng Smørrebrod - Traditional Danish food (open-face sandwich) Mother - Amazing pizza, avoid the panna cotta for dessert 7/11 is so much better in CPH. Pick up a Carlsberg on the way to a club - CPH allows

open carry!

Brunch

Cafe Klimt - Buffet brunch on weekends Kaffe og køkken - The waffle with marmalade is to die for Mad og Kaffe - Expect a wait, kitchen closes around 12 (?) so plan to be there early-ish Paludan - Huge portions! Kalaset - Some of the best pancakes in Copenhagen

Coffee/Pastries (huge part of the Copenhagen culture!) The Living Room - Go downstairs for the hygge vibes Buzz Kaffebar Kosta Kaffebar - This is far from the city center Democratic Coffee Emmery's - The Danish Starbucks. Try the tabierkes! Lagkagehuset Skt. Peder's Bageri - Oldest bakery in Copenhagen; you must go on a Wednesday to get

the famous kanelsnegl (cinnamon roll) The Donut Shop - T the warm nutella filled donut with whipped cream and chocolate

sauce

ClubsGoing out (for clubs, go at 11 to avoid the crazy lines!)

Hive - Great music usually, free drinks (1 drink in particular) all night on Thursdays ARCH - Mostly Danes, great music Meatpacking district - Jolene, KB3, and Bakken are the popular spots (KB3 and Bakken

are the spots for deep house) Mikkeller & Friends - Microbrewery for a chill, hygge evening Studenterhuset - Student house next to the Round Tower. All students from DIS and

København University have memberships, so you'll find a bunch of people hanging out or studying. They usually have a live band in the evening. The tequila shots are really cheap!
