Seminiferous Tubules::: contains several important structures. Spermatozoa is produced in the germinal epithelium of the seminiferous tubules and released into the lumina of these ducts. The germinal lining contains both Sertoli cells and the developing spermatocytes. The interstitial space contains clumps of darker, eosinophilic cells. These are the Leydig cells, which produce and release testosterone. Myoid cells surround the tubules and generate rhythmic contractions to propel spermatozoa and fluid. They also synthesize collagen and other fibers of connective tissue.

Spermatogenesis

لينا
pale in color and it has processes
لينا
larger cell primary spermatocytes more prominent than secondary because secondary spermatocytes have one of the shortest time spans for change
لينا
the process from spermatogonia to spermatids called :: spermatogensisbut from spermatids to spermatozo called :: spermiogensis(, without "t")***sertoli cells have abundant cytoplasm and extend from the basement membrane to the lumen. and they have many shapes

لينا
in corpus cavernosum more sinuses than spongiosum so the real erectile columns are corpus cavernosum not spongiosum

Stages of Folliclar Development

لينا
primordial follicles located in superficial cortical layerBefore puberty: mostly primordial after puberty : other cell types appear but primordial follicles still present
لينا
early primary follicle :: unilaminar late one is multilaminar

Atresia

لينا
Follicular atresia is the breakdown of the ovarian follicles, and it is necessary in order for women to maintain a healthy reproductive system.

The Uterus

Normal cervix is seen at high power, with non-keratinizing squamous epithelium. The basal cells are seen at the right,

and there is progressive maturation to the surface, where the flattened squamous cells have a low nuclear/cytoplasmic

ratio with abundant pale-staining cytoplasm containing glycogen. The epithelium lies above the basement

membrane. The submucosa is at the far right

The vagina has a stratified squamous epithelium,

beneath which is a vascular lamina propria without any

glands.
