Qshla Koysinjaq This structure of the Ottoman period from the middle of the 19th century is located in the south west of the region of Koya.

Koya Civilization Museum Koya Museum was founded in 2003, and it contains two different parts in Qshla koya:

1- Civilization

2- Heritag

Objects in the collection in the Museum

• Tablets:

• Inscription script cuneiform, 2000 BC.

Pottery period – Halaf 6500-5500 BC. -Ubaid 5500-4000 BC.– Uruk 4000-3100 BC.

Big jar and small jar, the Assyrian period and Islamic period

Cylinder Ssals Middle Assyrian period 1500-911 BC.

Satu Qala Tell

• Satu qala is located approximately 70 km southeast of Erbil and 25 km south of koya.

• The valley in which the site is located is relatively flat and drained in part by a wadi running west of the site.

• The site on the right bank of the lower zab, between the towns of Dukan and Taq Taq.

mound’s summit during the first two seasons. • Aimed to explore the sequence of occupational

phases of the site. In 2010 excavations were carried out in the southern half of square 1010/690.

In September 2016 I took part to the Archaeological Survey of Koya Project (University of Innsbruck, Austria) in Koya (Erbil, Iraq) as a pottery specialist.
