› Investment: A$500 million – Gina Reinhart’s 70% stake in JV partnership with China National Machinery Industry Corporation for 5,000ha greenfield dairy farming operation in Qld.
2013: One farm in Qld (Goondiwindi) and three in NSW (Purchased from PrimeAg)
› Investment: A$123 - 126 million for all 4 properties - 100% ownership by US pension fund
2012: Cubbie Station, South-West Queensland (cotton producer)
› Investment: A$232 - A$240 million – Chinese/Japanese RuYI consortia has 80% ownership
2011: Tully Sugar, North Queensland
› Investment: A$126.7 million – 100% ownership by COFCO, China Oil & Food Company

Chinese Investment in Australia by Industry
Size – Chinese Investment Deals in Australia’s Agriculture Sector
• Figures from KPMG’s database show that the majority of Chinese investment deals in the
Australian agricultural sector were in the region of US$5-25 million
• This compares against other sectors that have had larger individual deals
• However this now appears to be changing with Chinese investors focussed on projects of
scale.
