WORLD MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS DAY is May 26, 2010!This year’s focus for World MS Day is employment. Early retirement is the largest cost factor in the economic impact of MS. Therefore, the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) is doing a study on how having MS impacts employment. If you have MS or you know someone who has MS, please help the MSIF by completing their survey. The results from this study will be released on May 26, 2010.
Visit www.worldmsday.org to complete the employment survey, get more information on MS World Day, or to download digital advertising pieces.
* ** Special Opportunity ** *Dr. Marcus Rice, Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Tidewater, will be presenting at the Chesapeake Self Help Group on May 18th at 7pm. Come out and meet others while learning from one of our local doctors. Registration not required.
Come Celebrate With Us!!This June 5 & 6, 2010 Bike MS is celebrating 30 years of cycling to raise money to create a world free of MS! We have a beautiful route through the quaint towns of the Eastern Shore, great live entertainment Saturday night, a beautiful setting at Camp Silver Beach, and lots of delicious food planned for the over 700 cyclists participating in this milestone event.
What else could we possibly need? VO L U N T E E R S !Each volunteer’s contribution -- large or small -- is critical to the success of the event!
We need volunteers to work Rest Stops, Registration, Rider Check-In, Route Marking and Route Sign Retrieval, as Supply Truck Drivers, Set-Up Crews and Breakdown Crews.
All Volunteers will receive a limited edition T-shirt and join us for dinner and the 30th Anniversary Celebration at Silver Beach Saturday night, breakfast at Silver Beach Sunday morning, and a fabulous barbeque at The Bay Creek Resort and Club Sunday afternoon to fi nish this awesome event.
