CITY CONTROLEvent Acoustics has developed theMeTraoPro-ActiveSoundLevelNetworkwhich measures noise in severalproperties at once (internal) combiningthe data with measurements from theenvironment (external). This offers anintegratedsolutionforurbanareaswheremultiplesimultaneoussourcesrequireacollectivecentralizedapproachtoadheretothenoiseregulations.TheMeTrao systemsare ideal for bars/restaurants, but also at one or moresurrounded buildings (like houses).The systems send their data throughan internet connection and send it to acentraldatabase.A MeTrao city-monitoring project inRotterdam has reduced neighbourhoodnoisecomplaintsby60%inthepasttwoyears.

EVENT CONTROLMeTrao was designed from real lifeexperience gained from managing thesoundlevelsofvariouslarge-scaleDutchandBelgianfestivalssuchasNorthSeaJazzandLaundryDays.EventAcousticsdeveloped the system’s latest usefulfeaturesbasedonchallengesthataroseatsuchevents.Whatisuniqueaboutthesystem is its level of sensitivity – it canhighlight which stage of a multi-stagefestivaliscausingtheproblemandinsomecases what frequencies or combinationoffrequenciesarecausingtheregulationnoise levels tobebreached.Thismeantany issue can be pinpointed and solvedattheexactsource,ratherthanchangingtheoverallvolumelevelsofall20stages.
