PREPARING OF HOT COOKED MEALS

The hot cooked meals is prepared by engaging Cooks and Helpers on payment of half day Daily Wages rates under the minimum wages Act. Every school is provided with two gas cylinders & Chullahs with required cooking equipments. Safe drinking water supply is available in each school.

FOOD GRAINS (RICE)

Under the MDM programme, Govt. of India provides food grains (Rice) free of cost through Food Corporation of India for ten academic months at the quantum of 100 gram rice per day per child from Std. I to V and 150 gram per day per child rice for Std. VI & VIII

Best practice followed in the UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli

• The evaluation study of MDM conducted by IIE Pune found satisfactory and in their finding they stated that children are happy with meal served and green vegetables use in MDM.

• Green vegetables are provided @ Rs. 0.50 per child per day for all days of the week.
