200 Nights of Reading Lunch
On Monday the students who completed 200 nights
of reading had a special lunch of pizza, cupcakes
and juice with Mr Paterson. Congratulations to these
students for their great achievement and many
thanks to their parents for helping them reach
this milestone. Also thanks to Mrs Robyn
Nieass for helping organise the lunch.
From the Principal
Dear Families,
As the year draws to a close, it is good to remember that we are first and
foremost about educational partnership and strong relationships.
We have worked through a number of issues this week where individuals or
groups picked up on certain parts of an account of events, and then spread
them around further.
The most important thing to ensure, whenever there is a complaint or a
grievance, that we know to first go to the source of offence and seek to work it
out before it becomes a story that spreads and grows in the re-telling.
When we hear of things which are not going well, we first check the sources and
confirm that the versions are correct. And maybe I need to point out, unless we
do hear about issues, we cannot support any resolution.
Then we seek to mediate fairly between the persons who are experiencing
tension, and prepare them to enter a resolution stage.

Finally, we support each to understand where things went wrong, and to make an apology and/or offer
forgiveness. If necessary, consequences may apply.
These principles are found in all our policies and procedures that deal with grievances. The chart that we use
with students is found on our website at http://www.midnorthcc.sa.edu.au/wellbeing
The thing that is toxic to healthy restoration is gossip, especially that which is accelerated by instant forms of
communication and social media. Gossip tends to distort truth and polarise views. It also opens up what often
can be dealt with in a few minutes, to become days and weeks of offense, stress and anxiety.
In all things where there is believed to be offense taken, please seek to resolve matters quickly, and with a
small circle of supports.
Life is too short to become a hostage to unforgiveness.
Christmas is a good time to celebrate and remember the kindness of our Saviour Jesus; and the importance of
love, forgiveness, and gift giving.
Your Servant
Matt Paterson

Kudos
Kudos is a photo sharing app designed for young children. An adult's email address is required to create and approve an account before child can
upload their own images to the platform however, pending account approval, children can view images from other accounts. Children are able to
add friends and join interest groups which post relevant images, children can post reaction emojis and comment on images. When a child posts a
photo, the system emails the parent about this and allows the parent to remove the image if they wish to. The app does have its own moderating
and any mature content is removed as soon as possible.

Popular Betting Apps
Ladbrokes, SportsBet, TAB, William Hill, CrownBet, Bet365, Luxbet
These are betting apps that Cyber Experts and Family Zone both identify as unsafe for children to use. Betting apps are used to gamble real mon-
ey on sporting activities which is illegal for people under the age of 18 to partake in. We highly suggest remove any gambling or betting apps off a
child's device.
