Talking about Coffee

You love coffee. You know the difference between canned coffee ground in

a factory months ago and fresh coffee that you just ground minutes ago.

That is why you now own the Braun KSM2 aromatic coffee grinder.

This operator’s manual will show you how to properly use and clean your

KSM2 aromatic coffee grinder. It will also show you how to stay safe while

doing both.

Please keep a few things in mind while using your Braun KSM2 aromatic

coffee grinder:

Do not allow children to use the grinder.

Do not submerge the grinder in water.

Do not wash the grinder in the dishwasher.

Grinding the Coffee

1. Open the grinder lid.

2. Measure the amount of coffee beans you want to grind. Table 1 shows you how to measure out enough coffee to make a

specific number of cups.

3. Place the beans inside the bean basin.

This area contains the grinder blade.

4. Close the grinder lid.

5. Insert the plug into the electric socket.

6. Press the grinder button for the length of time shown in Table 1.

The coffee beans are ground into powder.

7. Release the grinder button.

8. Remove the plug from the electric socket.

9. Measure the grounds from the bean basin into a coffee filter.

10. Follow the instructions for your coffee maker to brew delicious

coffee.

Washing and Storing the Coffee Grinder

Warnings for washing and storing the coffee grinder

DANGER HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Always unplug the coffee grinder before you clean it.

Never use the coffee grinder near the water.

Never submerge the coffee grinder base into water while still plugged

in.

Never use your hands to retrieve the coffee grinder if it falls into

the water while still plugged in. First, turn off all electricity at the circuit breaker. Then you may then

retrieve the coffee grinder from the water.

If you fail to follow this warning, you may seriously injure yourself or die.

DANGER HAZARD OF INJURY TO FINGERS

Never disable the grinder lid's safety mechanism. This mechanism prevents the grinder blade from moving while the

lid is detached from the base.

Never touch the grinder blade with your fingers while the blade is

moving.

If you fail to follow these warning, you may seriously injure your fingers.

If you fail to use these instructions, you may injure your fingers.

CAUTION DAMAGE TO THE COFFEE MILL

Never submerge the coffee grinder base into water.

Never wash the coffee mill base in the dishwasher.

Always clean the coffee grinder after every use.

If you fail to follow this warning, you may damage the electric motor or

contaminate the bean basin with bacteria.

Safety cautions and warnings are well done. They support ANSI standards as

well ‘best practices’ regarding warnings and cautions.

Instructions for washing and storing the coffee grinder

1. Wipe the bean basin with a soft, damp paper towel or washcloth.

2. Wash the grinder lid with warm, soapy water.

3. Wrap the electric cord around the groove in the base of the coffee

grinder.

4. Store the grinder until you use it again.
