About our Speaker Lisa Guerrero:
I am a low key, home based photographer in Kennewick. I
specialize in modern day portraiture with an occasional fine art
or fashion flare.
Over the last three years I’ve studied and
practiced my skills in lighting, posing,
composition, and editing to create my
own signature style. I incorporate
techniques I have learned from top
photographers through the educational medium Creativelive.com. The
biggest influence in my photographer journey has been Sue Bryce
(contemporary fashion-inspired portrait photographer). What inspires me
most about the photographers I have learned from is how they have mastered
the ability to create interesting portraits by manipulating the tools and
techniques they are familiar with.
With every client I work with, I am presented with a new
situation, and I love being able to use what I know to help
people look their best! Even better, I like to use what I
know to evoke emotion in the viewer as they see their
portraits for the first time and every time after that!
A photography session with me is pretty easy going and
usually full of giggles and laughs. The challenge to bring
out and capture you and your family is a rewarding one.
Have a vision and need help creating it, lets talk!
You can see more of my work and contact me through Facebook at Lisa G Portraits or call me at
(509) 308-7713. Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to such a wonderful group of
women! I look forward to planning a session with you soon!

A Mentor Moment:
THANKSGIVING conjures up two happy thoughts – FOOD and FAMILY. The food is a happy given but not always the
family part. You may have realized somewhere along your journey that life would be grand if it wasn’t for the people. But
God has design in that and before you think it is about them – believe me He will remind you that He wants to deal with
your issues not theirs.
Holidays can and will be stressful because of family relationships. Pre-existing family dynamics, quirky personalities,
political leanings, holiday traditions, religious practices and beliefs, unrealistic expectations - they all make for a zoo of
possibilities.
God is sovereign over our lives. Yes, you made a choice to join a family, but in His sovereignty He works the details of
your life to accomplish His purposes. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to
those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
To know that He is at work in and through your family relationships should give you a sense of assurance that He wants
the best for you and your family and He won’t waste your sorrows.
What can God possibly accomplish in your life through family? The possibilities are endless but I would think the first on
the list would be that we could learn to be a vessel of grace. Give people room to not meet our expectations, to say or
do something that might hurt our feelings. Speak grace and truth. Grace and truth go together because there are
always boundaries of emotional, physical and spiritual behavior and we have responsibility to mark those boundaries for
our family seasoned with grace. “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how
you ought to answer each one.” Colossians 4:6
Two things I would encourage you to remember in dealing with family:
1) Your goal should simply be a clean conscience.
“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” James 4:17
After all, your relationship with the Lord should be the number one priority in your life. It is the only thing you
have any control over. You cannot change people but God can change you.
2) Your inappropriate behavior toward your family teaches your children how as adults they can behave inappropri-
ately. Your children will model family relationships as adults. “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you,
do also to them,” Matthew 7:12
Having said all that, one of the greatest blessings of life is sharing it with family, including extended
family. God established the family so we would not do life alone but together- through good
times and bad times. Whether your families are near or far for the holidays, ask God for wisdom to relate to
them in love and grace!
HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!
- Jean
P.S. Be sure to serve an extra portion of grace at your holiday table!!
Happy Birthday!
