Oh for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer’s praise

The glories of my God and King The triumphs of His grace

My gracious Master and my God Assist me to proclaim

To spread through all the earth abroad The honors of Thy name

Jesus! the name that charms our fears That bids our sorrows cease ’Tis music in the sinner’s ears ’Tis life and health and peace

He breaks the power of canceled sin He sets the prisoner free

His blood can make the foulest clean His blood availed for me

He speaks, and listening to His voice New life the dead receive

The mournful, broken hearts rejoice The humble poor believe

Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb Your loosened tongues employ

Ye blind, behold your Savior come And leap, ye lame, for joy

Glory to God, and praise and love Be ever, ever given

By saints below and saints above The church in earth and heaven

O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing M—Charles Wesley, Carl G. Glazer

Before the throne of God aboveI have a strong

and perfect pleaA great high priest

whose name is love, who ever lives

and pleads for me.

My name is gravenon His hand,

my name is writtenon His heart

I know that whilein heaven He stands,

no tongue can bid me thence depart

no tongue canbid me thence depart

When Satan temptsme to despairand tells me

of the guilt withinUpward I look

and see Him there, who made an end

to all my sin

Because the sinlessSavior died

my sinful soulis counted free

For God the justis satisfied

to look on Himand pardon meto look on Himand pardon me

Behold Him there, the risen Lamb,

my perfect spotlessrighteousness

The great unchangeable I am,

the King of Gloryand of grace

One with Himself,I cannot die,

my soul is purchased by His bloodMy life is hid

with Christ on high, with Christ my Savior

and my GodWith Christ my Savior

and my God

One with Himself,I cannot die,

my soul is purchasedby His blood My life is hid

with Christ on high, with Christ my Savior

and my GodWith Christ my Savior

and my God

How deep the Father’s love for us, How vast beyond all measure;

That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss,The Father turns His face away;

As wounds which mar The Chosen One

Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross, My sin upon His shoulders;

Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished;

His dying breathHas brought me life—

I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,No gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ,

His death and resurrection. Why should I gainFrom His reward?

I cannot give an answer. But this I know with all my heart:

His wounds have paid my ransom.

Why should I gainFrom His reward?

I cannot give an answer. But this I know with all my heart:

His wounds have paid my ransom. But this I know with all my heart:

His wounds have paid my ransom.

And can it be that I should gain An interest in the Savior’s blood?

Died He for me, who caused His pain?

For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! how can it be

That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Amazing love! How can it be

That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

He left His Father’s throne above; So free, so infinite His grace.

Emptied Himself of all but love,

And bled for Adam’s helpless race. ’Tis mercy all, immense and free,

For, O my God, it found out me.

Amazing love! How can it be

That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Long my imprisoned spirit layFast bound in sin and nature’s night;

Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,

I woke, the dungeon flamed with light. My chains fell off; my heart was free. I rose, went forth and followed Thee.

Amazing love! How can it be

That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head,

And clothed in righteousness divine;

Bold I approach th’eternal throne And claim the crown,

through Christ, my own.

Amazing love! How can it be

That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

And Can It Be? W-Charles Wesley / M-Thomas Campbell

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,

Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt,

Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,

There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

ChorusGrace, grace, God’s grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within!

Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that is greater

than all our sin!

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide-

What can avail to wash it away? Look! there is flowing

a crimson tide;Whiter than snow you may be today.

ChorusGrace, grace, God’s grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within!

Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that is greater

than all our sin!

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, Freely bestowed

on all who believe! All who are longing to see His face,

Will you this moment His grace receive?

ChorusGrace, grace, God’s grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within!

Grace, grace, God’s grace, Grace that is greater

than all our sin!Grace Greater Than Our Sin

SWBC Church Covenant

Acknowledging God’s Son, Jesus Christ,

as Savior and Lord, welcoming believer’s baptism

by immersion, recognizing that the integrity and vitality

of the church are precious to our Lord,

and trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit,

I say to Summit Woods Baptist Church, you can count on me:

To Exalt the King…

By conducting myself as to bring honor to the Lord

and living a life in obedience to the Word of God.

By serving the Lord according to church needs

and my spiritual gifts.

By helping sustain the church through regular giving.

To Be Equipped by God’s Word…

By studying and training for growth in understanding,

skill, and spirit.

By honoring and defending biblical preaching, teaching,

and ministry in the church and in the home.

To Encourage One Another…

By praying regularly and specifically for the concerns of the church.

By regular attendance.

By joining in the care of members in the fellowship.

By shunning destructive chatter and placing a high value

on unity in the church through addressing grievances biblically.

By making myself accountable to the church fellowship.

I will resign or accept termination of membership for chronic

and unrepentant indifference to the Word of God and this Covenant.

To Extend the Kingdom…

By being a faithful witness of the gospel in the world.

By praying for, supporting, participating in world-wide missions.

May the love of God, the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit

be with us all. Amen.
