The fastest, most advanced treatmentfor large vessel occlusion stroke.
Mount Sinai QueensCerebrovascular Stroke Center
The new Cerebrovascular Stroke Center at Mount Sinai Queens is a state-of-the-art, thrombectomy-capable stroke treatment center custom designed to provide the fastest and most efficient treatment of large vessel occlusion stroke.
When a stroke occurs, every second counts. But when it’s the most devastating form— a large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke—getting the patient to a thrombectomy-capable facility is crucial to ensuring the clot is removed and blood flow is restored to the brain as quickly as possible.
Our facility features:
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Advanced Thrombectomy Suite, which houses the Siemens Miyabi Angio-CT Hybrid Suite, the first and only one in the United States
Diagnostic CT and the thrombectomy procedure occur in the same room, on the same table, resulting in improved efficiency, speed, and quality, and eliminating time consuming transfers
The potential to cut door-to-puncture time well below the national target of 90 minutes, saving more lives and significantly improving patient outcomes
Extensive in-house stroke evaluation, rehabilitation, and recovery services
We treat:
Stroke, including large vessel occlusion stroke
Carotid disease and stenosis
Moya Moya disease
Atherosclerosis
